Wow!!!! What a pain in the a$$!!! Wanted my COMPLETE (in big dark letters) work history. Hell, I had to look up the former address of the frackin Domino's pizza I delivered at in college! I don't know why I did it either.....it's not like they're gonna call my little 2600 hour Citation captain a$$. I guess it was more or less for giggles, but I never thought it'd take all morning!

Ok, vent over, must have beer.....

Who else on this board has sent them an app? Just curious.

One thing I recall about the CAL application was that they wanted a copy of you latest medical application brought to the interview......How the heck is that legal?

Beats me. Hell, I never even keep 'em. Only reason I filled out the app is that it's Memorial day, the weather sucks, and I'm frackin bored.

Airapps one. I actually started the thing a couple of weeks ago one night, got bored with doing it, quit, and started playing Tekken. This morning, I got bored again, and for some reason got the wild hare up my a$$ to finish it. :)

did it cost you anything and where do you get application?
I am bored as he## also.
THanks

I actually found the link on flightinfo. But, go to CAL's website and click on careers. I believe there is a link on there. If that doesn't work, do a search on flightinfo and you'll find it. Be prepared for a LOOOOOOONG boring process!! They like, want to know the exact circumference of your left nut. It's a pain in the arse. :)

Free. But if you upgrade to their 'membership' or whatever, I don't know how much it is. However, just filling out the CAL app is free.

www.continental.com aboutContinental/career opportunities and it will direct you to the air apps method. You have to sign up for air apps, but you get one freebie and then you have to pay after that.

Good luck

Anyone willing to help me filling the CAL app out? I haven't filled one out in awhile.

Flamers work best when they keep a low profile. Blatant idiocy eats away at your credibility, which means even retards like me won't bite.

I'm serious about filling out an app. I'd love to go to the interview and see all you nervous shmucks fiddling in your chairs.

Talked to a friend that works there a few weeks ago. He said that new hires will be offered 737/GUM or 75/76/EWR as the two base options in the near future, and that reserve on the 757 would be upwards of four years. Ugh. Anybody know truth to this, or is it just speculation??

..CT

Just curious, does the CAL/AirApps system have a field to paste in a cover letter &/or resume? Also, I understand LORs, both internal & external, are done online; is that correct?

Getting all the ppwk together; still about 4-5 months before I start filling out applications and sending out resumes.

Thanks in advance,
VVJM265

They say they don't want any inexpierenced military pilots!!! sorry folks !!

Hope you're being sarcastic; inexperienced I'm not. (Check the profile, btw 85% of my time is pure international.)

Anyone able to answer the question I posted...?

Thanks,
VVJM265

Could flying from military base to military base be considered domestic. I thought military base were considered U.S. territory, like embassies.

Nope, only U.S. ships, airplanes and embassies are considered sovereign territory, not the bases. And even if you are flying from Kaneohe, HI to Misawa, Japan, you are in international airspace working with foreign controllers. In my case, I have two tours flying logistics in Europe which included many, many airfields other than just the various bases.

Well none at LGA. But let me see; Schipol, Frankfurt, Munich, Stuttgart, Northholt (5 NM north of Heathrow) Athens (LGAV and the now closed LGAT), Madrid, Bahrain Intl, Warsaw, Sophia, Naples (Italy not Fl.), HNL, Lisbon, Singapore, Ben Gurion, Larnaca, Lady Lex, pretty much every field in Italy, many fields most haven't heard of, etc, etc, plus most Navy & AF bases in Europe ;25 knot direct crosswinds in Olbia & Souda Bay, transpacs & translants, yada, yada, yada...

You may want to apply at Delta or American where you will fit in better. You may not fit in at an airline that's chalked full of Scabs!

Everything is done online. There is no "Continental-only" application. Wether you go to airlineapps.com or Continental.com/careers/etc you will end up at the same airlineapps website.

The application is long and detailed, and it is free, as long as you have not completed an application with airlineapps previously. If you have done another one, for example Frontier (they use airlineapps too.), then its 60 bucks to have your Frontier one "copied" to the Continental one. Or, if you have a lot of time on your hands, even if you have allready done one for Frontier, you can create a Continental app from scratch and type the whole thing over.

As for reserve time, that's a strange argument that I never understood from my buddies who stayed at the commuters. "Ohh man, you'll be on reserve forever!" So what? I bid reserve all 4 years I was at a large regional, and I ended up with more days off and more time at home than those who bid lines. Continental is the same way. Of course, I've never commuted a day in my life and I've moved to every single city I've been based in, so maybe it's different for me. I prefer reserve. If you live in base, you definately end up with more days off on reserve than all but the more senior line holders.

Really don't see either one turning around by the time I retire. AA still has almost 2900 furloughed; Delta, although starting to recall, still has 600 furloughed.

Would be nice if someone answered the original question...

There is nowhere to paste a standard resume and yes all recomendations both internal and external are done online. Good luck I've been in since the first day the app was available and hoping for the chance to interview since.
