Okay, forgive me now. I'm sure I'm flame-bait for bringing it up this early, BUT...

Does anyone have the date of the June '06 SWA Decision Board meeting?

Thanks,
- TT

probably around 15th. It's usually around the mid teens from what I've noticed.

Oh no, now I get to look forward to the stress of the June DB. Just waiting for the interview was tough enough. Now I have been stressed about waiting for references to be called (been over a week and no joy from any contacts). Of course if no references get called, I guess I don't need to stress over the DB do I?

If the DB is the 15th, is the cutoff the end of May as far as interview dates goes? I interview on the 6th and am figurin' to be on the July DB. Anyone know anything about the cutoff's?

Any idea how "concrete" the 6th of June is? There have been a higher number of interviews conducted lately - so a shorter period between DB's doesn't seem unreasonable.

6 June, Very Firm.

Spoke with an old USN, senior SWA Cap and 6 Jun is very firm for the Jun PDB. Last PDB was 15 May for the majority of the Apr interviewees. Cheers.

If the DB meets on the 6th, when would calls/letters start going out?
Good luck to everyone.

They've been next day up to a week or more out on the phone calls according to the guys I know who have interviewed recently (last guy I spoke with heard last month on the 18th and the board met on the 15th).

Letters seem to run even later at times (up to three weeks after accorinding to some accounts).

Good luck to all!

It's definitely a good sign but having all your refs called doesn't mean that you will make it through the decision board, as I can attest to this. Good luck to your buddy though... Hope he makes it...

Have guys been hired with no references called or just one? If so is it very rare?

Thanks

incredibly rare and by incredibly i bet you can count on two hands the number of folks hired with no LOR phone call checks in the last few years. there is hope i suppose you could say but be realisitic and be prepared for the worst. :(

i have heard of it happening. not sure if i can count on both hands though :P

Friend of mine interviewed 2 weeks ago. Can anyone confirm they met today?

thanks in advance!

Word from a guy I interviewed with says a friend in class right now was told no calls this week due to getting ready for the open house Saturday. Third hand info I know. But don't be alarmed if you don't get called this week. I hate the waiting.

That's the second source I've seen that said the calls will start next week - Man this is testing my nerves...... good luck to all...

Per the SWA website:

"Come learn all you ever wanted to know about Southwest’s Pilot hiring plans, hiring process, training process, and what it’s like to fly at Southwest. Speakers will include our Vice President of Flight Operations, Director of Training, Manager of Pilot Hiring, Pilot Recruiters, and Retired, Active, and New Hire Pilots."

Don't the calls come from the Chief or even Asst Chief Pilots? I don't read into this that they will even be present......sooooooo.....shouldn't calls go out as usual? I can't figure out why they would take the time to move the DB up to the 6th, only to delay the results. I don't claim to know much about this process, I'm just not sure I believe that calls will not be made as usual. JMHO. Either way, good luck to all waiting on the results! This wait is brutal!

I can confirm that one person has gotten a call. However, he does know the chief pilot that called him personally, so I'm not sure if his situation has any bearing on the timing of the remaining calls.

It wouldn't surprise me if they timed the 6-6 decision board to be timed with the chiefs being in town for the Open House....
