Don't worry, the IRS has already tried this. And it literally took an act of congress back in the late 80's/early 90's to stop it.

Right. Someone pointed out to Congress that their own tax-free perks might be next on the IRS chopping block. If the issue comes up again, they may decide to allow such taxes and simply enact exemptions for themselves. :rolleyes:
 
I used a ZED fare from Sydney to Cairns last summer on Qantas. It was reasonably priced and the cabin crew was fantastic.
