Using that logic, you should be stuck with an airline that couldn't make payroll without a merger. If you were the Mighty USAir, what was LOA93 all about? Truth is, your book rates were sacrificed to try and buy your jobs for a few months longer and it almost worked. But not quite. USAPA wasn't born out of spite for ALPA (who has thus far been the sole provider of any additional cash in your pocket for the past 8 years) but out of guilt and shame over the stupid tactics that lead you to the edge of demise.

So you went double or nothing with USAPA!

I know you'd really like the west to just give up, but it's not going to happen. If the merger fails, the bottom seniority guys out west will most likely start looking for work elsewhere as hiring spools up. The other west pilots have a good gig. They're based in PHX, which is waaaaay better than anything east and have a contract, that while it's lowwww on hourly pay, is industry standard or better in other areas. If we junior guys bail, they're not going to cave into you. They shouldn't and they won't. Shoot if some of us get on at Delta or Southwest, we'll probably still send money to AOL. As you've heard a thousand times before, get used to LOA93.
