AWA never did anything to raise the bar anywhere,

Hmm, AWA consistently improved its succeeding contracts and had arguably the best work rules among its peers until being hitched to the Titanic. ALPA president Duane Woerth told AWA pilots they were not entitled to a contract on par with ATA (remember them?). So they did it themselves.

Conversely, US pilots painted themselves into a corner until they could do nothing but accept concession after concession and still needed to be saved.

The tragedy is that they CHOSE to remain at the bottom and contribute to the setting of "market rates" for 10 years. You can try to justify the imposition of LOA93, but remaining there on your own accord when offered substantially more is indefensible.

AWA was an anchor on this industry. Always was from day 1. Not only are you wrong about USAirs rates and work rules, but even if you were right, it is something that AWA never did.

I know that the truth hurts. Keep suing.

Weren't the Westies (AWA) paid more than the Easties for the same equipment over the last 7 years? I'd say they raised the bar OVER the useless Easties....

Marty wants a new car! (Another new car).
Success is imminent (your donation will make it possible for the all wheel drive model with leather seats). :D

Well, you can cloud the issue all you want, since you know that you are wrong.
The actual facts are that USAir was in a BK contract, and had been the leader or right next to the leader in the industry in terms of compensation.

AWA never did anything to raise the bar anywhere, and had a marginally better contract (and that is debatable) than a contract resulting from a twice bankrupt carrier.

Indisputable.

SO then how do you feel about Southwest? Spirit? Jet Blue?
Truth is, thanks to the east ****************************** bags, there has been a drag on the industry downward to make any type of momentum for more than a decade! INDUSPUTABLE!

Yes they did have slightly better pay... For the same equipment... It's sad that their non-bankputcy contract was just slightly better on pay, by a few dollars, than the East contract that went through not one, but two bankruptcies... And they think they had gold... lol. Their eyes must be real big with the new American contract, a bankruptcy contract btw... with pay much better than anything they ever had...

Not on 767 ....

Yet I was making more than your 320 Capts per hour as a "767 " FO . Still pathetic and a drag down on the industry. But, you guys held out and so far have "won" something...??? Fantastic!

Ha Ha. "Constantly improving their contracts?" to still be on par with Republic. Best work rules amongst its peers, AKA third tier carriers. How sad that on your best day is measured as slightly better than a twice BK carrier. But hey, it's working for you so go with it, and at least you've got General on your side. Congrats.

No sadder than a pilot group driving its carrier into bankruptcy (twice, true talent there) and being too stupid to extract themselves when given the chance.
