Anyone knows what is the best way to jump seat to LEMD, or any other city in Spain. I'm in DTW but ORD, JFK, MIA... would work too. Pax or cargo, I don't care.

I'm guessing LEMD is Madrid? Currently USAirways out of PHL, DL out of JFK, and AA out of MIA/ Not sure if CAL does it out of EWR.

For BCN (Barcelona), same airlines except for AA. DAL also flies nonstop from ATL-BCN during the summer.

I JS'd to Madrid about a year ago on DAL out of ATL. Show up at the International service counter at least 90 minutes prior to go time and get passport listed.

Worked great.

Coming back, get to the airport at least 2 hours prior so you have plenty of time to pay the departure/extortion tax. Also, if you take DAL, make sure that you know exactly how your comapany is listed in their computer to verify that you can JS on them. Not much of a big deal hear, over there it can be with the language barrier.

You can also jumpseat on Iberia, Spanair, and Air Europa. They call it "extra crew" and it works the same way it does in the US. Go to the gate and show your IDs etc, and ask to go "extra crew." Works 99% of the time. Spain is the only country in Europe that allows this, and I think Italy is the same.

Then Italy is not in Europe?
Just kidding.
The MIA-MAD flights tend to be quite full, I believe it's best to go midweek.
