This tread blows me away. Even GIA pilots know it's a scam. They hide their head in shame. I have nothing to do with GIA and I've never heard of TabExpress, but I know GIA. Here's a question for ya russian...who paid GIA for you? Go on...you can say it...we all know...let it out. It was DAD. How do I know? All you GIA punks are the same, "I don't waaaannt to instruct. I want an airline job RIGHT NOW. Gimme a job! right now! I deserve it! (stamping feet) If you don't give me a job I'll HOLD MY BREATH!!!"

Let your face turn blue. Your going nowhere. No one is going to hire you. I'm on a hiring board and I'd fly you accross America just for the pleasure of telling you to beat feet you sissy baby! Maybe you can buy a job at UAL or USAir. I think they could use the cash. Oh wait, they have furloughees. Sorry, guess you just lose.
Punk? WHO are u calling a punk **! You want to know who paid for my training punk? ME MYSELF AND I, hard work of sweat and loans! Now that i cleared that up second you want to act like a little punk or better yet a **crybaby call me a punk in my face ! The first thing comming to your face is my foot for talking mad trash dude. U got a prob fine but watch becarefull what you say because i could be flying with u who knows. Your mouth gona get you in trouble. Third who are u dude. GODS GIVE to aviation? Glasspilot....

Keep your mouth shut.

To correct your arogant remarks:

1) I have been a CFI for 3 years (in use).

2) I was an instructor for Gulfstream Academy when there was a flight school. I also ran the Ground school for half a year. I teach aerobatics in a C-152 also.

3) Key loans is currently funding my GIA experiance. My parents don't make enough money to pay my rent a$$hole.

4) I have been in aviation all of my life. I am not a midlife crisis. I could not go to the military because of my eyes ( my real dream ).

Sorry I had nowhere else to go. Sorry I couldnt find a full time job as a CFI. Sorry I didnt let myself starve on 300 dollars every two weeks for another year. Sorry I got laid off from 2 charter jobs before i decided to spend the money at GIA. You know what? I didn't buy a job. I bought a block of time so I could get a job with ANOTHER airline on legitiment terms. If I thought it was a scam, I definatley would not have done it. Most all of my students are flying jets at regionals after completion of the program. EAT ME. Do not ever, ever, ever talk about my father again. You are so lucky you said that on a stupid forum. You lack respect and intellect.

Oh, I already have a job OFFER from a regional in the US and its not Pinnicale.

Punk.

To others...

Sorry I had to be like that with the idiot. I have done my best to show respect to others on this forum. However, this poster went the wrong way with his words.

End this crap people. I have never hated a man who chose a different way to the same goal as I and made it. All of you who have negative opinions of GIA please don't speak unless you actually know what you are talking about. Most of us are good pilots and safe crewmembers. We work just as hard as any other pilot to get to the airlines. It takes an Academy grad two years from start (private) to finish (last minute of 250 hrs). Remember, we are also good people too.

I am tired and going to bed.

Peace.....

Just wondering when that ended?

Hey Bobby!

Long time, no see. Actually the school closed it's doors to new students in May of '03. We finished our last student around September of '03. There are still stragalers out there that were on LOA's or are in Iraq that GIA is paying to attend other flight schools (since we sold all our A/C). After they finish at the flight school then they come back for the F/O Program. Sorry not much time to write more info, it's dinna' time!

Very literate post. Why don't you guys take this outside?

You are ignorant. I don't have any experiance with TAB, but at GIA we fly. Well, I guess you wouldn't know about our 99.7% pass rate with the airlines that hire us. Nor would you know about the four regionals that are begging for pilots from GIA because we train so easily and fly so proficiently. You are much too busy cracking jokes on your fellow pilots.

FLAP WEINIE

Blah Blah Blah

You know what GIA fool? I have received interview invitations from many of the same 4 regionals GIA has "contracts" with, as well as some of the other airline owned companies. Jopbs have been offered. However, I will NOT prostitute myself for $17K per year. You do not have to spend $25K at GIA to get an interview. What they REALLY are looking for is TURBOJET time over TURBOPROP time. And looking for someone foolish enough to pay PFT/GIA so they do not have to pay them a decent salary after they "graduate." So, how is that type rating in the Be1900 doing... oh yeah, I forgot. You don't get typed for $25K.

No - They don't even get a type for 25K?

Nope!!!

It's a $25K (250 hour) SIC program. But then, they don't tell you that when they first "sell" you the seat. Seems like an awful lot of money NOT to get typed when it's over. These kids (and their parents who have to co-sign) are stupid enough to rush out at 20 years of age; mortgage their young adult lives with a Key Bank (or elswhere) loan for $25-30K (gotta have a place to live while "training"); and then when it's all finished, they wind up waiting tables at Outback because it pays better than what Pinnicle is offering as F/O. Sheesh!!

ALmost forgot...

...what RUSSIAN didn't tell you was that the flight school (172/PA27) closed right after one of their 172s had a mid-air collision. Killed everyone on both planes as I recall.

Now thats a f#cking cheap shot. A guy I knew, his wife, and his daughter were killed in that accident. Not to mention 2 men from Boca Raton with famalies. It had NOTHING to do with shoddy MX, bad instruction, etc. Pilots of both airplanes did exactly as they should. They were both flying LEGALLY along the shoreline.

Yeah, that was the final nail in the coffin, but the underlying reason was the MX costs of the fleet of aging aircraft. It just provoked the inevitable.
Too bad both pilots in both planes where looking at the bikinis instead of other traffic. Point of fact: in the event of a collision, no one has right of way.

I am sorry, did I imply that there was faulty maintenace or instruction? I was just pointing out that the school closed right after the mid-air colission between one of GIAs planes and a civilian. Fact in evidence. I should also point out the Airborne Systems had a mid-air colission but they are still in operation.

Note the lack of profanity in my statements. That shows maturity, which you lack.

Hey

...I am just as guilty as you for check out the bikini patrol in Ft. Lauderdale.

Enough said... the nature of this string was about a joke... as I recall.

Peace brother

None of us are ever going to agree on this.
A couple years ago after 9/11 I considered going to Gulfstream Academy. I flew down to Ft.Lauderdale, met with Bobby Pinto who was (or may be still is) the director of marketing. He gave a nice presentation, about prospects of flying to Bahamas, yada, yada, ...

After much deliberation I decided to instruct instead.

What really turned me away was a not so much the low-esteem that other pilots hold GIA at. It was $25000 that you have pay after aquiring all licenses. And that a lot of things sounded phony about the program. For example, they say that after your 250hr internship, if you have good reviews from flying captains, they will consider you for a permanent position. In reality, from waht I was told (not from Bobby Pinto, of course) this never happens. Why would they give a position away if there is a line of wanabees willing to shed $25k for the same spot.

They tell you that you'd be making $8 as a FO. That is again a marketing trick. How can you be making money if you paid for the program?

Later back home I spoke to a US Airways captain, who didn't know about GIA but who said that the concept sucked: If GIA are running revenue flights why do FO have to pay for it as well ???

However, all this criticism aside I believe that if you have the means ($$$) then if wouldn't hurt to gain experience in BE-1900. Honestly, I don't see much difference between buying block 200hrs in Seneca or in BE-1900. I just don't like phony marketing talk and misrepresentation of facts.

Just my 0.02 cents.
