Well it shows places are hireing again. 5CFI's in one week out of lewis is pretty good in my opinion. Gezz everytime i post on this site I get people jumping all over my back...

I'm pretty pleased to see things moving again as well. Four of our CFI’s got hired in the last 10 days; while it may not be a "recovery" to some, it may be viewed as such by others. It's an improvement, although we have a long journey to go. No reason to jump down the guy's throat just because he's pleased that there's some movement again.

Fly safe,
TA:)

You are confused. It is not a recovery until there is an elitist from the people's party in the Oval Office...

And it's not a recession unless you can blame it on the party PREVIOUSLY in office, right?

I thought lewis finished infront of SIU last nationals..Guess I am wrong.

Nah, we beat everyone except Embry, UND, and WMU, but it's all good. Lewis did beat us by a few points the year before that, though.

Texan, There are just too many a-holes on this board who like to spit in other people's soup.

I too am please that things are moving because I have been waiting forever. I got my commercial and started flying freight just before September 11, just in time for the market to dry up for almost 3 years. I've been paying my dues flying in the trenches ever since and am just now putting some apps out. In the mean time I've racked up 4500 hrs, 3200 part 135, 1500 multi, 600 IFR and 1000 turbine PIC. I hope those numbers are to someone's liking, preferably Eagle or Xjet.

Waiting...

Where did they get hired?...and what are their flight times? Was curious to know.
All ours went to SkyWest & Great Lakes. The average times for SkyWest 1500TT 250multi 2-year degree from two of them, 4 year from one other; they also had a former CFI now FO walk in their resume. The GL guy had 1100 TT 100muti, no college, and no resume walk in.

Fly safe,
TA:cool: :D

Unfortunately until the majors begin to hire and suck up the 9000+ furloughed pilots we wont see significant long term "recovery".

Stays at the so-called regionals will extend towards the decade mark just as they did in the early to mid 90s.

Its nice that Southwest, Jetblue, Airtran are hiring but in order to see strong movement upward and through the regionals more companies are going to have to recall/hire in significant numbers.

It is also important to recognise that a lot of the movement at the regionals will be from the F/O ranks as first officers who already have the qualifications to move on (furloughed pilots who already have 1000 pic turbine, Boeing types etc.) get hired which will generate hiring at the regional, but virtually no movement towards upgrade.

I'm honestly glad that folks are getting hired, but the industry is a long LONG way from recovery.

You mean an old-money ivy-league playboy with a long family tradition of money and politics?

We already have one of those in the Oval Office. :D
