I'm just trying to comprehend how you "loose money".

Well the job has some good and bad points.

The good:

I would be paid to fly again, and perhaps it would resurrect my career.

The Bad:

I would loose money over what I do now.

I would become a stooge for a rich family.

I would be gone most weekends and miss opportunities with my family.

I would be on the hook 24/7 and it is hard to live a peaceful life under those circumstances.

The time I built would only amount to a few hundred hours a year, If that.

My logic says "stay away". My heart says to "go for it".

Whoring

I suppose that every regional FO is a whore too? (and many captains) What about CFI's? Do they fit that category as well?

cfi's who work for free are whores. pilots who ferry airplanes for expenses only are whores. regional fo's who pft/j are whores. people who throw the salary curve off the chart to the low side in the market place where i make a living are whores.

may i suggest a way that you can take the job and keep your pride? why don't you charge them a day rate as a contract pilot... i'm guessing 400-450/day on the be20 would be about right. that way, paying you is an easier pill for them to swallow, you keep your respect, and maybe you can be free to also contract on other aircraft in your area. you could probably make a pretty good living doing that, even if you had to pay for king air recurrent out of pocket once a year.

Skyline, didn't I talk to you last month in Seattle at Galvins? You were trying to hitch a ride to SLC, because you GV was in Hawaii with a maintaince problem. And you grew up with JFK jr., and owned 10 homes throughout the US and Europe?
