I would be commuting out of Chicago. Would I have to commute to JFK on my day off (early show on first day)? Would I also have to commute home on a day off?
Thank you guys and gals for the information. I'm greatful for folks like you who are willing to take time and share valuable information.
Thanks again for your time!

How is the quality of life for line holders?
How is the quality of life for reserve pilots?
Thanks in advance,

Smoking Man said:The first few months on the Airbus would be reserve, 12 days off.
On the 190 it would be shorter due to the short time it takes to double the amount of 190's.
After you are able to hold a line the pref bid system allows you to bid min sched, max sched. Prefer off etc. So the average would be 18-16 days off depending on your seniority and the amount of flying you would be awarded.
Hope this answers your question.
Best of luck
