This is fairly true. I was told when hired it would be 5 years till line holder on the bus.... 6 months. I was told 10 year upgrade... been here for 2.5 years and am about 200 numbers away. Things could slow down but i doubt it, im guessing another 1.5-2.5 years till upgrade. Hired today and its all about attrition... my guess 5-7 years to junior 190 capt.

Just to add a little info for you to chew on.

I have been here 6 years and am about 1500 on the seniority list. The most junior Capt on the Bus upgraded about 2 years ago and is about 1485 on the list. I have not even come close to holding Bus capt in any of the bids since then. At that rate 200 numbers could take a very long time.
 
1300ish here. Still several hundred FO's on both AC above me. Some are finally taking the upgrade just to get the type. More and more worried about the whole merger/aquisition crap going on and getting the upgrade.....

I would be more worried about getting a bust on my record than getting a type you won't really need. Most "majors" don't even care about TPIC time let alone types.
 
jetBlue seems like a decent enough airline that one could ABSOLUTELY live comfortably as an F/O for as long as they want. Money just buys more SH-T........work to live, not live to work.....Going or not going to a Major because of Upgrade time is stupid, it changes constantly
 
Without fragmentation language in our contract after a TE a decent line holder on the E190 may find him/herself at Republic.

Good thing republic does not fly anything bigger than a 190.
Looks like all of the airbus guys are safe....:erm:

College educations
Health Insurance

then you're quite right. Why would JetBlue pilots want any of those silly things. Those are just for real airline pilots at all those bankrupt, failed model airlines...

Did you interview yet? Because you're the kind of guy our management team just loves: Thrilled with mediocrity.

JetBlue pilots....fighting for mediocrity for 13 years and counting.

The homeless guy under the bridge looks pretty compfortable... That kind of compfort? Or peer average compfort?

The pilots of jetBlue have been told for years that we would be compensated by peer set industry average... JB has yet to do that.

"money just buys moreSH-T" sure does!! Why don't you give all yours away. or better yet, just go to work for free, I'm sure you'll get hired anywhere.

BTW, I think it's awsome that we've been working for years to bring pilot compensation back up and guys like you are willing to undermine any progress with statments like "money just buys more SH-T". Enjoy the right seat.

Then do it ... keep your a$$ where your anonymity is tough guy.

The PEA is very clear on fragmentation. It isn't there. Should work out fine for our fellow 190 pilots since we are in the airline industry and our leadership are such nice guys and a gal who just stole our health care and sold employees that it was better for us.

Were you here when D2 was running around backed up by flight operations and key pilots that T5 was a narrow body only terminal.

I think some tool and fool used the black helicopter stuff then too.

At least you can keep you PEA for a few month until you are folded into their CBA. RIght seat at Republic pays how much?
