Under the current outlook for 09, I would say no. We are only going to gain two E-190's. I don't think they would need to hire to cover just two aircraft. I also understand we have a little bit of a pool.

Sorry.

Hey smoking man,

Check your info. According the last quarterly conf. call We are only defering 1 of the 9 scheduled 190's next year. I hear we are going to have 190 classes in the early spring.

All subject to change of course.

Actually, there will be a net gain of 8 E190's in 2009.

They've indicated that they will probably need to interview/hire in the new year sometime for the 190. The 320 will not see any new-hires next year. We probably have a pool of some pilots. The need to interview will depend on how many of them take the offer, and how many positions we need to fill.

Thank you for the information. I am currently wearing my water wings in the shallow end of the pool and patiently waiting for a call.

Hope to see you before Christmas! I sure could use an income.

I heard they went from about an averaged 94 hour month down to 75 hours to keep more jobs. Is that true?

94 hours- are you kidding me? ********************- I'll just stay at the regional level and enjoy a better QOL. Their 190 wages are the sam.....whoops. There I go again. Shutting up.

It is true that the hours are being cut to save jobs in the short term but the only people that were flying 94 hours are those that wanted to.
I personally bid min sched for an average of 72 hours and 16 to 17 days off.

I was a very senior guy at one of the better regionals and my quality of life did not suffer. Granted my pay did suffer but that is only for the short term.

The average among all JB pilots last year was 83 hours.

Max sked for the sept bid for fo's is 80 hours with a 75 hour target.

August for me is 82 hours with rigs and 18 days off every trip is commutable on both ends.

Lets hope that there is some hiring on the 190 good luck to all

Depending on who you talk to B6 is over staffed by perhaps 200 pilots...could be worse with additional schedule cut backs in the fall.

I believe that they are offering pilots leaves of absence or the ability to fly only 60 hours per month.

My guess would be no hiring on the horizon.

ALL...Wrong...re read the PCG report.

The number was closer to 33% of all pilots. Then the average was more like 3 dudes flying 75 and one guy crediting 110 and then all of a sudden the average JetBlue pilot is flying 83 hours per month.

Plus the 83 hour mumbo jumbo included other types of pay credit (non flight time credits) that were not paid at PP.

The 83 number is bogus.

Ha. You too smart. You ACTUALLY paid attention.

I am one of those pilots that never gets counted in surveys or reports due to my mil time.

It makes you wonder -- if every pilot paid attention to the emails and learning notices, maybe we would have a CBA by now?

72 hrs AND 16 days off? Man I gots to get me some of that 190! That's some good clean living right there.

Good thing our entire existence at JB isn't based on premium pay ... wait, um ... er ... Maybe that 94 hr a month guy is doing it because he WANTS to.

I'm one of those 90ish hr per months guys. Not that I really "want" to...but NEED to...in order to survive financially. I was at 9yr capt pay at ASA (pre contract 08)...and now I'm in my 2nd yr 190 pay and still about 20K/yr short. UGH.

But it'll be worth it in the long run. I've had 77-80 hr awards with 17 days off, but I always pick up trips so I can pay all the bills and feed hungry mouths.
