Wait -- i got it! How's this for creativity: Continental is a bunch of scabs, jb pilots are whores, Fedex crashes airplanes, Southwest can't land on runways, Delta spends money like Wynonna Ryder on a painkiller binge, United hires minorities (gasp!), American doesn't paint their planes (never mind...), NWA mechanics will beat up your honor student, Alaska is serving complimentary oxygen on all flights above 14,000 ft ... and anyone who works for Gulfstream is a pft dork. Did I win? Is this the BEST post ever or what?

I don't care who you are, that is some funny shizzle!!!!!!

TAMPA - JetBlue Airways will discontinue service between Tampa International Airport and Newark Liberty International Airport on May 3, a JetBlue spokesman said Monday.
JetBlue will trim the two daily flights it inaugurated Oct. 19 to compete with Continental Airlines on the Tampa-Newark route.
However, it will maintain its service between Tampa and New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport and between Tampa and Boston, spokesman Brandon Hamm said.
"JetBlue is altering its summer schedule a little bit and shifting aircraft and flights," Hamm said.
JetBlue will add a Newark-San Juan, Puerto Rico, flight May 3; Hamm could not say whether that was why the Tampa-Newark flights were being discontinued.
"It could be a seasonal change" for Tampa, he said.
Passengers with reservations on the Newark-Tampa route after May 2 should contact the airline to make changes.
JetBlue declined to provide details on how full the Tampa-Newark flights have been. The airline lost $42.4 million in the fourth quarter ended Dec. 31, and said it planned to trim capacity and try to raise fares by $5 to $10 on its Florida routes.
Continental responded to JetBlue's competition at its key Newark hub last fall by adding three daily nonstop Tampa-Newark flights, and currently flies eight on that route.
"We see airlines trying to reduce capacity and raise fares," TIA Director Louis Miller said.

Arizona,

Instead of getting angry when you pull out that Hanes waistband and seeing what's down there, perhaps you could go on a mission to Hatti, help at your local church, donate time to the Boys and Girls Club, do something nice for your family...almost anything but sitting on the internet deceiving people will make you fell a hell of a lot better.

Hi, it's Dave!

Although the causes you mention are truly noble, why is it that when you people at Jet Blue are faced with the dire reality of your situation, you attack the messengers?

Insulting Mr. Arizona won't help your company stay in business. Maybe he just returned from a missions trip to Haiti, but instead of pointing out your obvious ignorance, he chose to take the high road. Maybe you could learn a lesson from him.

Obviously you lack the people skills that Frank and I have an abundance of.

Just a thought..

Take away two flights (EWR-TPA) add one (EWR-SJU).
I would think the SJU flight would have a higher yield.

Oh no, JB is not utilizating the aircraft as in the past. 10 hours for the TPA turns and only 8 for the SJU turn.

Or it could be that TPA will start charging JB for the jetway leases.

This is definate signs of the demise of JB.

Now that was funny.

ATR, I hate to say it, but that post of mine is a summation of everything I have read/heard/learned from flightinfo in the last two years. Oh yeah, and ALPA is the devil. That too. Forgot that one.

I have all of this pent up sarcasm inside, expect more to follow.

This was an excellent thread topic. From what I've noticed over way too many years of being in the airlines, the Northeast to Florida business tends to be scaled back in the summer time. As the article pasted by somebody above seemed to indicate, JB's EWR 'drawdown' may be more an anticipation of the seasonal change, and a reallocation of these aircraft to more profitable segments for the summer. The true answer to whether JetBlue is pulling back in EWR may not be known until the fall/winter.

jt

Yeah... like he said.. so there.... !

I have to agree with what JTrain said. We may be pulling out of TPA, but I belive the other flight reductions are seasonal adjustments… EWR was started in Nov… JB increases flying from NY/NE to all Florida markets in the winter thru spring break (as do others) and then reduces the North-South flying during the summer, and increases the East-West flying… as you can guess, not as many New Yorkers want to come to Fla in the summer. The added SJU flight in the summer is to meet the increased demand as more Puerto Ricans and their families want to go to SJU during summer vacation (we've been doing the same out of JFK). If you check the JFK flights (for the past 5 years), you’ll notice a pullback in Fla flying in the summer as well, and an increase Transcons. EWR flights to and from FLL and PBI are doing very well, in fact I believe we added a third gate in EWR already... stay tuned!
