Anyone heard anything about a CAL and UAL merger? If there is any merit, what would that do to a new hire?

I heard that it is going to happen April 1st...

New company will be called Unical Airways:laugh:

I thought getting LGB at Jetblue would take a couple of years?

actually looking at the latest awards for dec....new hires seem to be going to LGB now.....also you have a choice which plane to start on....the E190 @ 37/hr or A320 @ 51/hr....with time and a half paid over 70 hours. i am now holding a line after only 2 months on reserve....with overtime and double time holiday pay i have about 105 hours of credit for nov..in the A320 you do the math....

there will be no 5-7 yr FOs here for a lonnnng time.....

good luck on your decision.

I have been at jetBlue now for 10 months and I could have held LGB 2 months ago. I would have held a line every month except DEC. We upped our crews from 50 to 60 in LGB a few months back which helped. I do not think there is a lot of movement in LGB now except the guys that want to upgrade and go to NY. Hope this helps.

CAL gets my vote! The equipment is good and the people are great, however working through first year pay is challenging.
