JetBlue Open House?

How do the open houses work? Tours or the facility? Do they take you in groups ? curious

When I went last year in Feb....during our "learning ice event up north"...we were split up into 2 groups. One went into the big presentation room (300ish seats). They'll talk about the start of JB and whats going on now and how we operate. Meanwhile the other group is split up further into smaller tour groups...you go around the training center checking things out.

BRING a protien bar or something. All they had when I was there was free coffee and cookies. Yummy, but I'm glad I had some meal bars with me.

Be ready to interview...mentally...don't worry about all the crap you'd normally bring. They know you won't be carrying that stuff around. But, just incase, have your head in gear. They sometimes take a handful of guys/girls and give em interviews there. Don't sweat it though...if you totally $hit the bed on THAT interview, I do believe they'll call you for a regular interview up in JFK. A buddy of mine did that when he didn't interview well at the "on the spot" on in MCO.

I might be sounding like a broken record and I apologize ahead of time if I do. But can someone tell me what the minimums are? I went to APC, went to the JetBlue career section on their site, but cannot find that info. And I'm interested in attending this open house, but it is a cross country flight for me. I would really like to know if I'm competative before I make the trip.

I'm at 4000TT, 2200ME, 900Turbine, and 3400PIC
Background is 91/135/121

Same question here: >6000 total, lots of part 135 t-prop time, about 2000 hrs in transport cat. including about 800 PIC. Am 121 current but recent time is in F-27 (steamgauges), so wondering if I'd have a snowballs' chance, over.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:



- 1500 hours total time in airplanes (including turbine Helicopter,

excluding Simulator, Flight Engineer time)

- 500 hours in fixed wing airplanes

- Recency of flight experience will be considered

- Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airline Transport Pilot (ATP)

Certification

- Current FAA Class 1 Medical Certificate

- Federal Communication Commission (FCC) Radio License

- Valid Passport with the ability to travel in and out of the United

States

- Three reference letters from Pilots who can personally attest to the

candidate’s flying skills (must bring originals to interview)

- Vision corrected to 20/20

- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma

- College Degree preferred but not required

- Regular attendance and punctuality

- Organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the

JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Fun and Passion

- Well groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance

- Pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test

- Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is

located

- When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all

capable Crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the

aircraft



*JetBlue will only consider PIC time when the Pilot has signed for the

aircraft. Please use only this time when completing the areas of the

application asking for PIC time to be entered.



Candidates who have previously interviewed will be ineligible for

another opportunity to do so for a period of six (6) months from the

date of their last interview



Competitive Qualifications:



Our computers surface the most competitive applicants in the database.

These files are then reviewed by a team of line Pilots. Due to the high

volume of applications we receive, competitive qualifications can be

significantly higher than the minimum requirements. On average, we are

currently seeing the following background in candidates selected to

interview:



- Over 3,000 hours total time in airplanes

- Greater than 1,000 hours PIC

- Greater than 1,000 hours in more sophisticated aircraft utilizing

Electronic Flight Instrument Systems (EFIS), Flight Management Systems

(FMS)

- Bachelor's Degree

- Recency of experience (Greater than 200 hours within the last 12

months)

Had a couple lear drivers in my class.. they had to work harder(new to glass, 121, FMS, even jepps..), but they got the job offer and passed the training..

Were you there? I wasn't called yet. I was called a few days after the last one though. Seemed like a lot of folks there this year.

yes I was there......they had a pretty big turn-out, maybe 70-100 people ( could be a little off with that # )

really impressed with what I saw, very laid back and seemed like I would be very happy there.

The date is not listed on the internal pilot recruitment site yet. As soon as it is, I will post a thread about it if it has not been posted already.

They had a lot of people in attendance, maybe they are still sifting through the resumes to find the most competitive to call from those who attended.

In a briefing, we were told that March 7th would be where most of us would be if chosen for an interview.

No call yet here. It would be good if someone here would post when they get the call so we can keep our fingers crossed. I had two letters of recommendation. I hope that helps
