Everyone;
I was wondering what progress jetBlue had made on the Oct 14 interview group Phase II background checks. The reason I am curious is that I am in the fortunate position of having several offers for work coming in at once. Make first choice is jetBlue but I am having trouble placing another offer on hold until the background check is complete. The job is out of the country and they need me to begin soon. I don't feel it is professional to commit to a job and allow them to train me and obtain a resident visa for me then turn around and quit almost immediately if the jetBlue process ends in a class date. I don' believe in burning bridges in this business.

If I had a handle on how fast the background checks were proceeding it might help with this problem. I am of course reluctant to contact jetBlue and inquire as they made it apparent in their Phase II letter that this was something they did not welcome. For my part they have contacted my current employer to confirm my employment, spoke with one of my references, and I just recieved my PRIA report from the FAA yesterday. Is this par for the group and in line with what the Sept. 10 group experienced? Not realy trying to rush the process and I know it is a waiting game with jetBlue but turning down work in this industry without a firm commitment of a class date is getting increasingly difficult to do!!

Thanks for any thoughtful responses;

Dean is very understanding about problems like this. I think he would not mind (and probably welcome) your inquiry to him. I would recommend sending him an email with your dilemma. He will understand and help if he can.
Hey Best of luck and hope to welcome you aboard soon

I'll second that, I mean about the email. As I have said many times before, this is a crazy mixed up business and I am sure that Dean will be understanding to your dilemna. One thing he might (and I said might) know is the day that the PHC is meeting, if they have set a date yet. That would be the most definite info that you could go by in helping you decide. No offers of employment are made by Dean until he gets the final go-ahead from the PHC. Dean is not part of that committee, just the messenger of their decision.

Anyway, a quick email won't hurt.

Good Luck.

Helmsman,

You're par for the course as far as I'm concerned. All of my letter of references have been contacted, I got the letter from the FAA yesterday as well and my employer was also contacted.........if anyone hears when the next pilot hiring board meets, that would be great info to know.......

:p

I just received my FAA PRIA report yesterday, also. But to date, none of my references have been called. I am sure it takes quite some time to complete all the phone calls. Any other news from the October 14th guys out there? Best wishes in your decision conundrum.

No real news other then 1 PRIA has been done and the FAA records check. None of my references have been called as of today.
