According to current orders and options, our fleet size will double by 2014. Therefore, anyone hired this year could be a Captain by then.

That sounds totally reasonable, double the fleet in 4 years, I mean that is only 25+ airframes a year. Sure, I'll believe that, right after I buy this nice bridge I was just offered for purchase

I heard it was going to be 6000 pilots by 2014 and the pay was going to be SWA + 1% with a mix of 380's 350's 330's and 320's!

Right now we are at 151 airplanes according the the quarterly SEC report. So, we will be at 302 airplanes in 2014?

It is 1995-2000 for Southwest at Jet Blue. A fleet doubling is size is great fo the folks on the property. Then in 2015 it will be like Southwest now. A great place to be but not a lot of growth.

The 4 190s are definite, not 100 percent on the hiring but it is most likely...unless they actually do displace. I was hoping that airbus won the "bidding war" but I guess not. So much for the getting rid of the 190 rumor.

Only 147 left to go.

Ditto on wishing Airbus won. I'm glad the flying's on property and not "Operated by Republic", but seriously ready to fly some Euro-trash instead of Brazilian trash. Shepherded an absolute POS up and down the west coast today that needs to be dumped in the jungle for good.....

Say goodbye to flying the jungle jet on the west coast. They want to keep it closer to the supply shed. It will no longer go further west than AUS. Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to you too! And I've been hearing the rumors about taking the jet off the west coast plenty recently; hope they're not true but suspect otherwise.... Where exactly are we gonna get the busses to replace the flying?
