One of my colleagues was talking to a couple of JetBlue pilots about the Embraer operation. These pilots were quite sure the hiring minimums for the Embraer fleet would be different than that of the Airbus fleet.

As several airlines are reducing their hiring qualifications (AirTran, American Eagle, etc) will JetBlue do the same for the EMB fleet?

I want to make it clear that I **DO NOT** want to start a war of words regarding seniority lists (I understand that it will remain one list) and "regional jets" (which the EMB-190 is not). Anybody with additional insight, please comment on flight time minimums for the EMB fleet, if in fact they might differ from the A320 fleet.

Thanks!

I agree, as long as their are 6000-8000-10000 hour pilots applying for that job JetBlue (or any onther LCC) has no need to reduce it's hiring qualifications

I wouldnt expect them to drop minimums because one airplane is called an Embraer and one is called Airbus. Thats really what we are talking about being that the E190 is certainly not a "regional Jet" Hopefully, JetBlue will be the first to show these clowns that just because it says Embraer on the side, its not a second tier or lesser airplane.

They must still be able to find an excess of very qualified applicants if my case is any indication - 14,000TT 11,000 jet with Airbus type. No call after 2 years on file. Good luck to all.

Has a pay rate for the EMB-190 been formalized yet? I know there was discussion about a percentage of current Airbus rates. Just curious because my company is looking at getting an aircraft in the 100 seat range, and is trying to negotiate a pay rate for the aircraft based on a percentage of the pay rate for the smallest aircraft that is currently being flown.

By the way, how many passenger seats will be in JetBlue's EMB-190s?

Thanks, and sorry to hijack the thread.

Whats the deal with the EMB-190 at JetBlue. Is management still sticking to the position that there will be no moving from the Airbus to the Embraer? Will they be seperate groups of pilots, or will it still be one list with pilots able to move from the Embrear to the Airbus when their seniority allows?

That position has NEVER been taken.

ONE company, ONE pilot group, ONE list.

"ONE company, ONE pilot group, ONE list."

Feels good, does it not:)

Go blue.
