Low-fare Airline to Add Flights Long Beach-Sacramento, Burbank-Orlando, FL and Burbank-Las Vegas
NEW YORK, March 7, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- JetBlue Airways (NasdaqNM:
JBLU -
News) today announces new destinations from Southern California, featuring its award-winning service, 36 channels of DIRECTV programming and roomy, all-leather seats. JetBlue will introduce service between: Long Beach, CA and Sacramento, CA, effective May 3; and starting June 30, between Burbank, CA and Orlando, FL; and Burbank and Las Vegas, NV.
``Our Southern Californian customers have been asking us to serve more destinations since we first entered the market in Long Beach nearly five years ago,'' said David Neeleman, JetBlue's Chairman and CEO. ``With these new routes, they'll have even more chances to take advantage of our low fares and award-winning service.''
``A big part of economic development is understanding the region's opportunities for economic growth. The Greater Los Angeles market represents a mix of industry clusters that has some similarities to the Metro Orlando market. That overlap includes strengths in sectors such as entertainment production and digital media,'' said Jonathan Gemmen, Metro Orlando Economic Development Commission's Director of Business Development. ``This new direct route being added by JetBlue is just another way for our local businesses to capitalize on these opportunities, stimulating additional economic growth in both of our regions.''
