I'm sorry but JB hardly is "Elcheapo airlines" if they were they'd would have been charging for Directtv from the get go or at least when fuel started going up. Wait til Continental gets the tv's they are going to be charging for 'em....and all profits come right to Live tv....also known as JB.

Dumbest Thread Ever

Ride another airline that you paid $100 to check your bags on in high density 757 coach transcon while paying $2 for a drink

or Stretch your legs out with 36 channels of free direct tv and 100 channels of xm radio, best leg room out there and oh yeah wrapped up in your $7 OPTIONAL blanket and pillow while chewing on unlimited snacks and drinks

or Walk down the steps to that fancy e145 and then trek up the steps again oh never mind!!!!!!!!

have a wet dream tonight that jb is toast and feel better in the morning

And you won't even get an option to pay $7 for a pillow, you just won't get one. AA pulled their pillows off of almost all their flights 3yrs ago. Really don't see what the big deal about Jet Blue charging is, aren't they a LCC?

We did the buy a fresh new blanket & pillow deal several years ago at Independence Air. If I remember it was $10 for the bean filled cushie neck pillow and a fiver for the bankie. The pax loved the fact they were new and not snotted up.

The only thing jetBlue is guilty of is bad timing. The press & public are spring loaded to gripe about the airlines no matter what. Smart people will figure out this really is better, and it avoids the no "blanket left for me" gripers and bankie hogs.

Hang in there B6, you run a good show.

And thanks for all the rides to work!

This was just mentioned on CNBC (5:35PM EST) and the guest commentator said, "Sounds like they stay up late at night thinking of ways to make air travel less tolerable." Another person sitting at the table said it, "sounded like one of those Atlantic City scams." So, I ain't alone... Perception is important and most people will perceive this as a cheap move regardless of the economic circumstances.

Sounds like he's the type of guy that believes every word that comes from a reporter's mouth. Especially when reporting on aviation stories.
What this guy really needs to understand, the people would be complaining a lot more if we charged everyone the $7 per ticket to cover the "free pillow and blanket". I am sure people’s perspective of the EMB-145 (puddle jumper) affects how they fly on your airline right? Bottom line, people will complain, but they will still fly.

Its actually a nice kit with a 5 dollar coupon to bed bath and beyond. My "regional", give me a break man. Your name is so fitting.....toolbag

Dude, if you don't think it's lame you are out of touch. I bet SWA won't charge for the same. Sure, everyone's charging extra fees for bags and drinks/snacks (my regional is as well). Now JB charges for pillows and blankets in a "comfort kit." Nice marketing phrase. Some people will likely freeze and be uncomfortable rather than pay $7 but I guess they are SOL and shouldn't expect the basics anymore... Nice to see that JB is the trailblazer in these types of extraneous fees beyond baggage.

What's next, charging for the use of lights above your seats? Suggest that one to management and get a bonus.

Do you think any of these "commentators" actually get on anything less than a first class seat on DL UA or the like?? These dipsh$its are about as far away from real life as you can get.

And what glorious company do you work for that doesn't charge extra fees and hands out free pillows and blankets?

Answer the question there small Johnson. What great aviation outfit do you fly the almighty EMB-145 for. Just curious. Hope you like your aircraft cause you'll be on it for along time, possibly retirement.

What is your beef with JetBlue, did we turn you down at some point? If you have ever ridden in the back of one of our planes you would know it is one of the best domestic products period. Where were you when we decided to charge for the extra legroom by moving seats around. Did you say that was stupid too? Turns out it has exceeded expections and is doing quite well. Buy the blanket or not. I could care less. As another person said I would gladly buy my own than take a free pillow that somebody had slobbered on for hours. There are suckers born every minute. You may as well get the extra revenue. We are just joining the rest of the legacy carriers in the fact that we are trying to survive.

Here is a hint, if you ever get an interview with a fractional don't act a dumbass there as you do here. That is my opinion as you have yours.

Imagine this:
Pax on another airline is feeling cold....asks grumpy FA for a pillow and blanket..."sorry we don't have them any more...but I'll look for one that may be left over." (Must be a new hire if FA offered to look:nuts: )
Comes back with a blue pillow that now looks somewhat grey...pillow will actually stick to the window and double as a sun shade! Helpful new hire finds a blanket used to hide a porn watching freak(debate this description) on a trans con playing with his toy! won't unfold without peeling it apart in sections!:puke:

Pax on B6 ask for a P&B and gets a eco friendly brand new inflatable pillow (reusable) and blanket that has never been used or contains the DNA of 4000 other people! cost $7... not getting free hair gel and dried elmers glue.....priceless!
