have an air redolent of one who seeks union representation at Jet Blue. Just curious....

While I personally feel that collective bargaining will become a necessity at jetBlue and I personally feel that an independent is the way to go, I will not be involved in any way in that effort. Why? Because I love my family.
My intention with these posts is to get some concensus as our annual survey approaches.

Great - so after five years (if they decide you are worthy to stay on) you go back to being a first officer? Wow, that will be a great deal when the 190s come online (given the great payrates).

Yeah it kind of sucks. I didn't make the cut so I'm off to flight attendant school next week. They told me I would get a preferential interview to get my job back, on the bottom of the list of course. Oh well at least I'm still in the aviation business.

Why would management not renew the contract? Something like NOT doing your share of cleaning the cabin and lavatories between flights?

Must not have looked too good in the "swimsuit" portion of the re-hire interview process, eh? If you would have been paying attention during initial, they said it was vital to stay in peak physical condition. Maybe you don't deserve to be rehired. We don't need slackers here my friend.

They just didn't like me in a speedo I guess. Can't imagine why!? No more Blue Kool Aid and blue chips for me. I figure with the pay cut I won't be able to eat anyway so I should be a shoe-in next time.
