Then how come my prayers keep getting answered? Including some very important ones.

Interesting about the hurricane. Lotsa eartquakes too. Time to crack open the LeHaye books again. ;)

The fact that the religious right can not admit that they just possibly might not be correct shows that they are terrified that they might be wrong.

I know what I believe in (actually I'm not really all that sure), but I'm fully aware and can readily admit that I could be wrong. I know that any of the religons, or none of the religons could be right.

What pisses non-Christians off is the fact that Christians talk about it as fact and truth, when in fact it is not. It is all belief.

Think about the beliefs. Think deeply and critically. Why exactly do you believe what you do? Look back to when you started to believe. What caused it? Why were your prayers answered? Were they really answered? "Why" is a very dangerous question to religon. One of my good friends is very Catholic, and he's told me that it's because he's been brainwashed by the church.

Now this will probably be blasted by the "right" and all will refuse to look at themselves. Why do you refuse to do so?

Fire away oh enlightened ones. Realize that I'm not saying you are wrong, I'm just saying ask yourself why, and be starkly honest in your answer. It's not like you have to tell anyone else, but sometimes your own self is the hardest person to be honest with.

Sorry, I can't resist. I've never had a prayer answered. I've prayed every night since I was old enough to do so. I don't always ask for something, I don't ask for the impossible, I don't ask for things to be handed to me with no work on my part. I think I would remember if one was answered, but I'm pretty sure that none have. So why do I keep doing it? I'm not sure. I haven't been able to answer that question yet. Perhaps it is because I'm scared, or perhaps because I've been taught that way and it's just something that you do. I'm also aware that I could be flat out wrong and every prayer has been answered and I just can't tell, seems to me that it would be a funny way of answering them though. I do not know.

Are your prayers really getting answered? How do you know? Why do you know that? Easy to brush off those questions. Not so easy to answer when you really start to think about it. Realize that I'm not expecting anyone to reply to these questions. They are merely for one's own reflection.

Oh and one last thing. I'm not asking for anyone to "help" me find faith. If I wanted help in that regard, I wouldn't be asking for it here. So spare me the "you sound lost" sermons.

So much for keepin it above the fray. Too bad.

If anybody on this board wants to have a substantive discussion, feel free to PM me, otherwise, see yall on the aviation related topics.

Yall have fun.

I couldn't care less about your beliefs, so no I'm not annoyed by your beliefs because I haven't given it a thought. Your followers who push their beliefs into my life and wallet are the ones who annoy me.

Exactly.. I am not stressing over not beeing saved.. I just want you bible beaters to leave me alone..

Answer me this.. why does a religion need more money than its operating costs? And no they are no giving it all back to charities..

And what side started this obvious flame-bait thread? You all sound sooo secure in your beliefs.

I'm sorry, but I can't pretend that I don't know something when I know it. It is not important how I know, because you don't care.

I'm sorry that Christian's self-assuredness annoys/threatens you so much. Your cross to bear, I guess.

The problem with religous right is that they are gaining power thanks to a right wing friendly white house and house of reps. Not to mention some big business on their side. Namely companies like Clear Channel. Just follow the Howard Stern issue and you'll see that. The right needs to be knocked down a few levels so they are not so influential. This country is becoming more prudish by the day. It needs to stop.

Yeah, Howard Stern has lost listeners, stopping being funny, and a company that carried his program on a few of their stations, dropped him.

They were not under an obligation to broadcast his show, and how many clear channel stations carried him in the first place? 6 or something?

Howard Stern was just seeking publicity and crying out Censorship, Persecution to try and get attention and listeners back.

And I am not by any means a holy rollers, more of a godless heathen, but Sterns childish tirades against others to make up for his show which has rapidly gone down hill, dont hold any water with me. Stern blaming Bush, well that was just laughable.
