Don't know how much potential there is when there is so much competition and the floor has been set so low. I don't claim to be a yield management expert, but anytime air travel is less then a bus ticket I seriously question what fricking business I've gotten myself into.banger said:They will raise them..hence the term "intro"

Vingus said:What the heck does that mean?
radarlove said:That if JBLU guys decide they've had enough, they can just waltz over to SWA or CAL and hop on board. Last I heard, a fairly large percentage of JBLU's new hire classes came aboard with B737 types and a "no" letter from SWA.
My opinion, and those opinions of virtually everyone I've flown with in the short period I've worked here, is that they DO care.
I personally don't see a paycut coming....I don't know who started that one.
I think alot of pilots would not stand for that. That would be the break in trust that this company is being held together by.

So if a paycut comes, just what would you do. Leave? Complain? Do something about it? What? You have no union.

In 1997 I called the office of Gordon Bethune. I told him I was traveling to SEA for summer vacation with my family, could he get me into the Renton plant to see the production line for the B757. (There are NO public tours at Renton)
He gave me his secretary to handle everything. My family and I had a personal tour of the B737/757 plant, and of Continentals 21st B757.
Yeah! I know for a fact G.B. would answer the phone when his pilots called the office. Want to try another one?
COpilot said:Are you there Click?
Anything, "know it all"?
COpilot said:Gee, let me see. Its 1997, I fly the B757, I asked G.B. to get me into Renton to See the airplane I fly for CO being built. His office arranged for the CO sales rep to show us around. I show up and I get onto CO aircraft number 21. I don't think they would be able to show me a B737 and call it a 757 without me knowing.
Yeah! the B757 line was at Renton. The B767 line is Evertt.

Dont worry pal you win.. Gordon is a great guy I stand corrected..
Can I have his number? I would like a tour as well with my family..
furloughfodder said:Why would you want a tour of a Boeing?
Go to France and get a tour at the Airbus factory....or wherever they make those $28 an hour jungle jets you guys fly.
And make sure we dont hire people with your mentality..

I'm wound up because in one paragraph I tell you what I did. The next you call me on it as if I was screwed up? What the heck would you say?
Sorry thread drift.
Ex737Driver said:and that would be........self preserving possibly? No union is perfect and ALPA is far from that but I will take ALPA over not having a choice to vote on my future with NO union any day.
