Jet Blue is really filling the gaping hole in the carribean left by the departure of Eagle. The mix of Jungle jet and the bus allows them to tailor-fit a plane to the route for capacity needs and it's paying off nicely. Check out this 1-way fare STT to SJU...it's a 15 minute flight with a fuel burn of about 1500 lbs in that Embraer I'm guessing

8:43 AM STT
9:29 AM SJU
Flight 1035
Duration: 0h 46m
B6

Total trip time: 0h 46m

$340
1 Seat

JB and Spirit are gonna own San Juan soon

And they did a great job renovating terminal A. Smart aggressive move in SJU.

Regardless of a merger, just wait until AA gets e190s and Airbuses.

JB may soon lose its fleet and cost structure advantage, which may cause some JB growth to tapper.

Yup all downhill at blue.
I am sure big AA will just swoop in and kill us.
They might need to take a number didn't you hear swa is going to buy us.
I don't think we will lose the cost structure anytime soon.
Good luck with the merger you guys need it or do you?

I stated "merger or not." I also never wrote anything about "all downhill." How did you interpreted all down hill out of my last post?

It is true that JetBlue has benefitted from APA pilots limiting outsourcing, AA's poorly sized aircraft to routes, their older pilot group and pre-911 cost structure.

All I'm saying is that AA will be much more competitive post BK (again, merger or not). This may be why JetBlue expressed interest in a codeshare over going head to head with AA.

I think it would be fantastic if SWA merged with JetBlue and I hope it happens.

Simple as that! Buy new planes and your casm shrinks. You're a real genius, it's probably best you stick to playing minecraft kid.
