..and no airlines took government handouts after 9/11?

Big difference sport. The Gubment shut down the entire US Airspace for 3, count em, 3 days. Damn right there should be a payout when the only way to exist is taken away by the government.

"Almost before the dust had settled after 9/11, US airlines were given an outright gift of $5 billion in cash by the US government. Profitable airlines were given gifts as well as unprofitable ones. Airlines did not have to show or prove anything to receive their share of the handout. Some airlines even estimated their losses, as a result of 9/11, were less than the unasked for gift they received!"

I don't think it cost the airlines that much in 3 days...

Jetblue's share was nearly $100 million -- and we were only about a year old at the time...

No need to, apparently management believes enough interest cards are already in. Therefore, why allow us to have anything for free when they can sit and wait the 2-3 years its going to take to negotiate that first contract with only some of the provisions showing up in the the final draft. Thank you JAOC... You win... We all lose...

Does Dave ever do wrong in your world? The company did what they always do, they talk a good game but in the end they can't or won't give up control. Once again they have shown their backsides and have demonstrated Bluejet is nothing more than US Air lite. They don't have a clue as to how many cards have been submitted nor does anyone except a few in ALPA national. What does it take to reach a guy like you?

With all of the crap that has taken place the last few years, you blame the JAOC? Holy smokes! Holy smokes!
