J32/J41 Florida Startup

In November on Climbto350.com there was a posting for a startup charter operation in FL that was going to allegedly utilize J32 and J41 Aircraft and they were going to interview in November and December for a January startup. Did anyone ever hear anything from them? Or hear anything about anyone in FL ever following through on this idea?

That operation in FL has been trying to get going for over a year. They apparently bought the 121 certificate that Sunrise Airlines Inc (Page, AZ) had available when they went bankrupt. I hear that some of the managment is the same, with a new owner. Take their job only if you have no other, then leave as soon as a good instructing job comes along. You will be much happier.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh then that's probably the group down in Naples that claimed they were going to replace American Eagle as Naples main carrier. They seem to make a great deal of promises but haven't gotten off the ground literally.

when i was flying out of orlando exec-these guys seemed to be buying up j31-j41. i think they are going to use the name discover air? also has some ties to ata training academy.
i have heard some different things-but have not been down there since nov. fly safe to all.

They according to their website have a J32 and an EMB-120 Brasillia perhaps they couldn't get their hands on a J41 and went with the EMB-120 instead.

There was an article in the Daytona Beach local paper about this company about a year ago. There were going to have scheduled service from DAB to miami....nothing yet....

Florida J31s and 41s

In response to the questions about the Florida airline operating J31s and 41s, this is Discover Air. It is owned by the Williams family that owns Airline Training Academy. They have been talking about code shares with various airlines including Delta and Jet Blue. Obviously nothing has materialized yet. They currently operate out of Orlando Executive and have 4 J31s and 2 Brazilias. They also have a maintenence hanger in Fort Lauderdale and may have a couple of metroliners down there. They have met with Governor Bush and he would like to see them become Florida's intrastate airline. I think they are hiring captains right now but I would strongly suggest this as a last resort. The aircraft are always sitting on the ramp and very rarely move. Bottom line.....not much time or pay. Good luck to those of you with hours and experience.

J31's

Guys, I fly out of SRQ as an IP...the planes (Jestream 31's)are located on the ramp in Venice, FL. They had been coming into the FBO at Sarsota for refueling while they were training. Havent seen them in there for awhile and also havent seen much action on their ramp location at Venice either.

I had no idea that they had aircraft in Venice. I know for a fact they have 4 J31s and 2 EMB 120s based out of Orlando Executive. This is where their office is based. It's located on the west ramp at Airline Training Academy. It's a speculation among us students that part of our $45k tuition is going to this "airline". We thought that we were just paying for those 6 aircraft. Really glad to know that there may be more positioned elsewhere (extremely sarcastic)

They are under the name sunrise air.....but soon to change to FLAIR bc other companies objected to the florida air name. They are going to be given 1 year by the FAA for their airline. It's only on a short term basis til they prove themselves.

Discover Air and Flair are 2 different companies run by 2 different organizatons.
Flair choked when they tried to get going ran for a couple months using caravan initialy,does have j-31 or 32. I did know some of the guys running it . I don't see anything good here. I don't trust them at all. This is the one said how great they would be in Naples APF. I remember hearing pilots stoped flying because checks wheren't cashing.

Discover air ran by the williams, whom also own ata, is a much more respectable outfit and i also know some of the family. Capt. Williams has a habit of starting aviation business and making them work. This is the same family that started what is now known as Comair Academy. I hope the airline works out for them.

I know them the people running (FLAIR) from mostly from thier other operations in the Naples area where the airline deal never actually made it to. I was personaly asked to come fly for them by one of the guys running the show and I know of a few others, most of us refused because of the reputation this certain person had.
One of the guys running it has had a business at Naples Airport in one form or another for around 8yrs or so give or take. I've seen the way he does business there,and its something I would not whant to be associated with.
Did you fly for them? If so you might know what Flair's deal is or was better then I do
