I knew it was bad, I just wasn't sure how bad until somebody sent me an article from this months ATW.At peak I believe Astar had some 44 aircraft. ABX had 74 DC-9's and 30 767's along with a handful of DC-8's.
DHL apparently didn't want ABX to do any of the international flying other than a flight or two to Canada. Astar handles some runs to Mexico.
"daily shipments in the US fell from around 1.2 million at this time last year to "less than 100,000" currently"
For that kind of volume, the dreaded "C" containers would probably work just fine.
