I think we will be playing Russian Roulette with a pistol not a revolver if this goes to arbitration. The sad thing is you and I will be sitting directly next to Slick and Big Sis when they pull the trigger. I hope I'm wrong...........

Arbitration could give you a better deal than the current offer. How could it be worse? Have there been any recent awards that didn't fence Captains? Did any staple a large bunch of FOs? 650 FOs pretty much stapled? Does that seem fair? Allowing SWA FOs to upgrade prior to more senior AT FOs, does that seem fair? You really may be wrong. Good luck with that decision of yours. It's up to you, and you will live with it.

If you're a 717 guy your QOL will be identical to today. Correct?

Probably not. I bid about 50% in my seat on the 717 in ATL right now. That gives me usually in my top 5 choices. After ATL is shrunk by almost half, depending on how many pilots voluntarily bid out to other domiciles I could find myself back on reserve at the bottom of the bid list. You guys seem to forget that things aren't status quo, regardless of the fence, because ATL is being shrunk. The fence is of limited value.

OYS

OYS,

While Kharma and I won't be voting the same way, Russian roulette doesn't speak to the result of Arbitration. It speaks to how SWAPA and SW go about the process of integrating it (or not). I have made my decision to vote no and can live with whatever happens. Hoping for the best would be a sincere understatement.

I respect your dedication to your principles. It is certainly commendable. If its down with the ship then it's down with the ship

I have to point out this is a very different approach by Swa and Swapa than any other aquisition in its 40 year history. That's somewhat lost here and while your opinion is your opinion, this is worth pointing out. Swa and Swapa are trying to be fair and equitable and aren't using the 40 year play book.

Good luck to all.

Hey man, it's only bad for you if you don't like women and vodka!
This is not an ego thing- I've flown Left seat, more than the right- what matters to me is coming to work and enjoying my job.

Humvee- where on earth do you think you deserve a DOH integration with the company that bought you. You get your longevity for pay- but me and our FOs shouldn't be punished for taking the extra time it took to get the swa job- that's a fact you guys like to ignore- but it's relevant in seniority-

Should we not be rewarded for that effort?

Rewarded for the effort?
OK, so you say A) you've spent more time as a CA than a F/O. B) you have said you put in more time and worked harder than the average bear to get to swa.

To fully understand your position, please regale us with your background and how you put in more time/worked harder to get to swa. It really is germane to your argument.

Honestly, I am not trying to bear the torch for principled decisions. The decision before me is whether the agreement is something my family and I would CHOOSE to live under, which it isn't. I am only acknowledging the potential consequences of that decision and stressing that it was a MAJOR part of my personal risk/benefit analysis.

I truly hope your right when you say that SWA/SWAPA is playing from a different playbook. If we get a result via Arbitration, the next play will answer which playbook they're using.

OYS you say that Swa fo's will upgrade before Airtran fo's with more seniority. Refresh my memory since I am not that familiar but didn't the arbitrator award the same thing in the America west/usair? You seem to be up on all that stuff.

The Airtran "FO's" with WAY less years of service HAVE ALREADY UPGRADED. And they get to KEEP their upgrade. Those that haven't just got gifted an extra $10k/yr over a WN pilot that is SENIOR TO THEM!

Winning!

Unless GK says take it or see ya, then there is no way any one who actually read the SL9 would be willing to vote yes with negotiating ability still available.

For those SW posters that think we want it all, that is not true. We want what ever is in the agreement to be defined and does not contain words that could change the meaning of an entire "benefit".

You would be ticked as well if while buying a car, multiple sales reps told you different stories about the car you wanted to buy such as, it is flood damged to infested with fleas while the manager says it is a great car.

I am pretty sure you would use other options available to find the facts or get a better deal unless there was zero time and you had to have that car or never drive again.

Looking forward to stability and a new uniform.
