Do not understand

I do not understand this JB bad mouthing, about sub standard wages, destroying the industry, etc. I have a friend been there three years, makes over $170K/yr, stock options of around $300K. Sounds pretty good to me. There pay system at JB is quite good at driving up productivity, most pilots there will fly a hard 900 hour per year, but be paid for prehaps 1200 hours.
What other third year pilot in the industry apporaches those wages? $74/hr 1st year pay is a great starting point.

Aw dude...I was gonna change my avatar (at least for a couple of days...) but I see you beat me to it. Oh well...back to my old one. But, I STILL need more cowbell. :cool:

?????

Part of the reason JB is making money is that they are a young company. That means no 20 year employee's making $200K. Also they have no pension plan weighing them down. Uniteds employee's as a group are now one of the lowest paid in the industry, and there still losing money. Why?? Because of the under-financed pension.

I think the reason people are perturbed is that the "big blue" 100 seat rate is less than 70 seat rates at other airlines, such as Comair and ASA (among others). An establishment of this kind of payrate puts pressure on not only the legacy carriers, but now the more established regional carriers as well.

For that matter, the proposed E-190 "boo blue" rate is relatively the same as the 50 SEAT RATE at Comair (on the F/O side)....

JetBlue year one=> about $37.00
year two=> about $39.00

Comair year one=> $23.40
year two=> $37.20
year three=> $39.00

I hope the the jetBlue group has the determination and fortitude to tell Dave squared that these wages are not by any means acceptable. (A nice way of saying that I think it's f'cking pathetic, which is what I really mean).

do not apply

Fr all those who feel this rate is too low, do not apply, that will show them. There is a good chance those who do apply will be making way more at JB in three years than they would at one of places with those great 50 seat rates.
