AZtruck,

No, i still have not heard anything yet either. Yeah, i agree, calling this week seems prudent... no, i do not think they would get upset since it's at the end of the time frame they gave us. But, of course, i find it highly likely that they will be tight lipped anyway. I'll let you know if i hear anything.

Hey guys...When I interviewed they told me that I would know something in two weeks...4 months later I found out that I was in the pool. It took me another 4 months to get a class date. The people in HR are very nice and I dont think that they mind if you call (I did), but they are anything but speedy.

KS and pilot monkey:
Thanks for the info, I guess patience is the issue here, will keep you all posted if I get any news.
I may have another 121 opportunity come up at the end of the week, which I may have to take if it takes so long to get in a class. although I'd hate to ruin my chances as IA is where I want to be.
Any advice would be appreciated.

aztruck

Jenga,

Are you at Island Air now?

Also, I noticed that ever since Phyllis left Island Air, the situation with notifying applicants of results of their interviews has really gone tango uniform. Go figure...

I wish.

I moved here (HNL) 4 months ago and am commuting to the mainland. I love it here, but I have absolutely no idea how long it'll take to get selected for a class.

Oh yeah,

That's right, they sent it through the e-mail...no phone call, no letter and if you did not reply, they think you arent interested. I never got the e-mail for my class date...I had to call and find out they almost didn't put me in the class....and I already worked for the company.

Bottom line...bug the crap out of them

FYI: When I interviewed, they said, "you should hear soemthing in 2-3 weeks." Well, 4 months later I got a letter. Class was 4 months after that. During the waiting time some of us called, we all got the same answer. "we haven't made a decision yet, we will let you know when we do". Keep in mind, HR does not make the decisions, they only do what Fly Ops tells them.

News from flt ops: Aloha will be having a class soon, (no date set) when they do, they will take some IA pilots. After that IA will probably have a small class of about 4. Best guess at this time is it will be Jan or Feb.

For you guys that just interviewed, keep in mind that there is no order to how they pull people out of the pool. As Jenga said, there are people that have been in the pool for over a year and were not called for several classes.

Just got off the phone with HR. They told me that there will be letters sent out, to the people who interviewed last month, by the end of this week. The way she worded it, though, is that these letters will likely only be in reference to being in the pool. No surprise there. Also that would go hand in hand with what Sleepyhead said. By the way thanks for the updated info Sleepyhead.

The thread is entitled "Island Air Poolies" - is that your question?

No...I am unfamiliar with Island Air. Tell me a little about it?

It's a small DHC-8 outfit in Hawaii. Owned by Aloha Air Group (also owner of Aloha Airlines). There are about 50 pilots there and four Dash-8's. They fly to the Islands of Moloka'i, Lana'i and Maui.
