Others may not like this opinion very much... I am sorry that it will be a longer wait for the current F/O guys at IA, but i feel much more sorry for the Hawaiian guys.

Imagine finally getting a chance to move on to the majors and then getting furloughed soon after. It may be tough for everyone else, but i think it's great that they are lucky enough not to be out on the street. At that point in your life it would hurt more to be jobless.

I was refering to the statement " ..the union over there to let this happen".
Just wanted to let "wannabeflyer" know that the union doesn't have control over a lot of things.
I've heard that statement before, "why did APLA allow this..."
Seems like many people on the outside think APLA controls everything. (probably from all the bad press about unions).
So for you young pilots starting out, if it's not in your contract, the company can do whatever it wants.

My buddy in HI just told me he saw an ad in the paper,
Island Air is looking for a dispatcher.
You need a dispatcher license, pays 10.65/hr.

3 guys

about those 3 hawaiian guys they hired back, theyre really good guys that worked for IA for quite a while. Hiring back that kind of talent is a sure bet for the company.
