Is Mesaba still getting 9E CRJs? If so, why?

Can someone explain to me why an ALPA carrier is taking jobs/airplanes away from another ALPA carrier. Or is this just another reason some consider ALPA to be worthless? What's the point of having a union in this case?

It's been a while since I've been at XJ... But last time I checked, ALPA is not taking any aircraft from anyone... You may want to look Mother Northwest squarely in the eyes to find out the reason behind aircraft swapping...

That's BS. Why is the MEC at either airline excepting that? They don't except anything else imposed upon them without a fight- why should this be different.

Does your mom know you're on the computer again?

The MEC has nothing to say about it. Nowhere in the contract for either carrier is a guarantee of airframes available to be flown.

Besides, a little negative growth for PCL might end the JMs and extensions...for about a minute.

From what I remeber, a lot of 9E guys were happy about it. Like Inconceivable said they may get a little break. Well I guess that will be until the 900 start showing up. As far as XJ, mgmt brought it upon themselves. Can you say fatiuge (sp?), i don't need to know how to spellit. I just need to know how to say it.

It's not really an ALPA issue. NWA's contract with PCL gave them the right to pull the 17 aircraft if certain operational performance criteria were not met. They weren't, and they did.

As for when/if the aircraft will actually go to XJ, here's some new scuttlebutt:

To clarify......what was stated in the new ASA was that if PCL did not reach a new agreement on a contract with the pilots by March 31, 2007, then NWA had the option to remove the 15 A/C from Pinnacle. Well, PCL pilots decided not to be pressured into accepting a crappy agreement and so NWA decided to excersise their option.

Don't believe airplanes are going anywhere until you see them. The Mesaba training situation is a mess. No pilots to fly them!
