A reminder: over thirty-five hundred American men, women, and children have died so far in this "war on terror." We are fighting people who think nothing of subjecting prisoners to the most excruciating forms of torture.

Am I really the only guy out here who doesn't give a fart about embarassing photos taken of Iraqi prisoners?

Nope, I'm with ya! Don't forget about the detainees in cuba who might of got there feelings hurt by the guards there too. I'ts war for chris'sakes!!

No, it's not just you.

Not to mention my annoyance that my usual AM talk radio shows are being preempted for this posturing and hollering masquerading as an inquest.

If this video was shown at the beginning of every television news show every night, maybe they wouldn't forget so easily.

True.. Very true..

The US needs to handle their pow as they would like their own to be handled.

You can't point fingers at people if you can't follow the very same rules you're trying to lay onto you're enemies.

I know this will p!ss a few of you off, but if you want to get respect you have to show it, regardless of your emotions and feelings of revenge.

Unfortunately the isolated incidents are now the main focus trying to shift away the attention of why we're there in the first place

I could give a rats A$$ about this crap... How about we concentrate on winning the war over there instead of going on a witchunt through the ranks of men & women that are putting thier lives on the line over there.

Swass...

If you PM me with your e-mail address, I have already had your cat and my dog "mate" and have come up with a pic of their offspring. Thank Microsoft's "Picture It v. 9", extreme boredom, and a half hour of cut-and-paste.

I mind is a terrible thing.

Errrr, to waste, that is. ;)

I love it how the Democrats are now calling for Rumsfeld's resignation. It makes me laugh that everytime even the smallest thing comes out they call for someone in the Bush administration to resign.

Now before we get silly about this, let me point out that the conservative pundits I see on CNN, NBC, and Fox are all expressing the same disgust that the liberal ones are.

To me, this is a media issue. These pictures should never have seen the light of day.

I agree. And we should remember that this is going to make it very tough on the next Allied troops who end up being detained.

But the phony-baloney righteous indignation I'm seeing on T.V.--not to mention the ensuing witchhunt--pisses me off.

I just saw a picture the other day taken of a B-24 in 1944. The nose art proudly proclaimed that this aircraft was "The Whistlin' Sh|thouse." I guess it's a good thing nobody saw that in '44, or else the public would be worrying about the moral fiber of our fighting men...and calling for Marshall's resignation.

It makes us equal to them, and therefore I oppose it. I feel that it will harm the U.S. and it's image. Those responsible should be prosecuted to the fullest, and that B.S. prison commander who said that she could not be all places at all times.. fry her!! Is she unaware of how the military chain of command works.

To sum it up, I guess I am in direct disagreement with your thoughts on this subject... but that is the great thing about having freedom of thought and speech.

The same public outrage and media coverage was not present when the bodies of those Americans were burning and hanging from that bridge in Fallujah. There is something wrong with this picture... That was 10X worse in my personal opinion...

The truth is that most of the detainees in that prison are NOT Iraqis, but Arabs, Syrians and Iranians. Nevertheless, it was criminal conduct on the part of those soldiers and a complete lack of leadership from their commanders. The whole lot should spend time in Leavenworth.

At the same time, there are those in the leadership of this country that are using this for their own political gain to the detriment of the US effort in Iraq. I trust American voters to recognize that for what it is and handle it in the next election.

There is a difference between legitimate interrogation of POWs and just torturing people we have detained for fun. In the Abu Ghraib case, it sounds like the military personnel were just roughing up the POWs for jollies.

It's called a double standard. The US forces are expected to be responsible and fight a nice clean war and the other side gets a pass for nearly anything they do. I think the media should take a lesson from history of Germany and Japan circa 1944-45 where the US killed several million civilians in saturation bombing raids.

Now there's an idea...solve a lot of problems...

(Nah, I'm just kidding.)

I agree...F' em.

Who cares if the "poor Iraqi" who was trying to kill us is getting pi$$ed on in jail. Too Bad.

Good Ole BUSH is truly dropping the ball on this war. 100%.

Fallujah? Level the F'n place....We can practically level Baghdad and now we are negotiationg with terrorists over Fallujah???

Mosques??... F'em...If you can climb the minaret and try and pick off our GI's --- call CNN and Al-Jazerra (same thing) and film the Leveling of the F'n Mosque. Pronto. Stop being a F'n pu$$y GWB.

WTF???

all this as more and more of our guys get killed by snipers and roadside bombs.

What a F'n MESS...

What ya gonna do now Mr President? Im an American, Im with ya, but do you have any idea??

Somehow I dont think so.

The only reason this clown has a CHANCE in Nov. is b/c all the Dumb-ocrats can scrape up is JOHN KERRY.....pathetic.

I will put it this way, we CHOOSE to fight a clean of war as we can. There isn't any requirement to do so on our part, it is a jester of our goodwill. Abuse of our goodwill will only make us abandon or change the way we currently fight. It would be perfectly legitimate for us to run a war where we destroy rebellious cities and subscribe to a doctrine of total warfare.

There is no excuse for abusing prisoners of war. Now, are the guerilla fighters we capture "prisoners of war", and were they "abused"? I say no on both counts. However, we should do our best to live by the Golden Rule and treat others the way we would like to be treated.

The real problem here is that the Democrats are using the situation to weaken the Bush Admin as a part of their attempt to regain power. F'ing despicable. Politics is supposed to stop at the waters edge. If the Demorats need to disagree, they should do it behind closed doors, not on TV. Their actions will only cost American soldiers lives. He!!, Rumsfeld himself may embolden the terrorsist anal openings by his apology. I'm afraid that if was I currently in the service, I might get drummed out for not being politcally correct. I'd be screaming for all out war from the top of the tallest tree. Until we take these scumbuckets out, we're hosed. Instead our leaders mollycoddle them and apologize for hurting their feelings. Shameful, just shameful.

:-)

WOW. I was just watching the House Armed Services Committee hearing on this, and I just have to say they're blowing this WAY out of proportion. Nobody even died, and the Democrat from Rhode Island said, "This is going to take years to recover from." Give me a break. In about six months it will be all gone.
