It'd be nice if Owner Services would give the owners our Blackberry # so they could call and let us know they are on their way.

Every little bit helps ....

My thought as well. I'm one of those who cuts back where I can. I put artificial sweetner in my tea but I like chicken fried steak. Isn't life about balancing things?

I'm also interested in a hybrid vehicle, but my husband is a pilot. Some would say that's ironic, but I, too, think we can all help in several easy ways. I shop for Energy Star products and chose a trash collection company that offers recycle pick up service, as well. Surprisingly most didn't include it.

S&S, I agree w/you. I think NJ should explain the energy issue to those owners who haven't thought about it and seek their cooperation.

UG, that does sound like something an Owner Services Rep should do. At least pass the # on and give the pax the option of calling ahead.

This is what my company does and the clients call in range most of the time. It is definitely appreciated and works great, especially with delays. I imagine it would be more difficult to implement on such a scale that NJ's operates.

I must disagree with you on your behalf. We get the FBO phone number on our emails and trip itinerary. That doesn't change (usually). The pilots may change. How many times will your phone ring or how many voice mail messages will you have from the passenger that was going to be on your 11:00 flight but which got changed to another tail. He couldn't find the new pilot's number so he calls you. Ot just dials a wrong number later on. Trust me -- do you want to braodcast your cell phone number to 14-20 passengers on every 7 day trip?? I fly 80-90% of my trips out of the same 6-7 FBOs. Those are all the numbers an owner needs.

Fly safe.

The reason I say that is for the instances when, for example, we have a 2-hour slide. Halfway through the slide, we get an update with a new slide starting then. And then the owner proceeds to show up an hour and a half after the adjusted slide. That's essentially 4.5 hours we're sitting there not sure if the owner is coming through the door in the next 5 minutes. Or conversely, we have a 9am show, 10am go, and the owner shows up at 9:15 ready to go. Very few owners are as considerate as you, NJAowner.

I would personally LOVE a 15 minute call.

However, WE are supposed to be at the owner's disposal, not vice versa. The people who fly on us are spending some bucks to fly on us. I say if they show up early, great. Make sure they are comfortable and give them a time you think you are going to be ready. If they are late, so what? We operate on the owner's schedule.

I really like this guy. Thinks more like a pilot than an owner.

No -- I just try to be considerate of the time of others. I get very irritated if I am suppossed to have a 10 a.m. meeting and everyone shows up at 10:30 without a call. Or if they say "I'll be at your office between 11-12" I am ready before 11 and won't start a call, etc., which I know will run 30 minutes. IIf I know at 11 you won't be there until 12, I can be productive.

I'm not perfect, and may be late without a call, but many times it is just 15 seconds and I know you can enjoy lunch for an hour instead of inhaling it.

Fly safe.
