Looks like the ipad is the way to go. Live weather data and GPS input will seal the deal.

I would expect the next version of the iPad to give us that functionality while airborne.

It has bluetooth, if you could connect to the bluetooth XM receiver and gps it might work. note: I have done this with a regular EFB before. Seem like internal GPS, bluetooth to XM receiver would be the way to go if the WxWorx software would work on the Ipad.

According to the South Central Jepp Acct manager the Jepp Ipad App will launch on 7/26/10.

The app has been released and is now available for download. I don't have my serial # handy so won't be able to use it until I get home tomorrow.

Got the JeppTC app for iPad and it works well. They're Jepp charts. Overall foreflight is better simply because the app does so much more than just display plates however if you must have jepps get the app and buy ejepps and that's it.

BTW... one ejepp subscription gives you up to four users for the same serial number. I'd love to see trip kits offered in ejepp for international ops.
