Before I started reading this website, I have only heard the word "tool" used a few times. Somebody help me understand why on this discussion board people choose the word "tool" when they want to refer negatively to that person. I don't get it.

The only "tools" I know of are in my workshop out back.

Probably because any other euphamism for a "Richard" runs the
risk of being deleted by the moderators.
