Impending Pilot shortage

I would love to sit down and talk to CFI's or aspiring pilots and not try to discourage them but educate them on the realities of airline life or life after flight school (not that i'm an expert). The pay is not glamourous, the life isn't glamerous and you are just a pawn in someone elses game.

I am a newbie CFI (had it a little over a year) and I can understand the senior guys warning us. But at the same time there is no way I could give it up without at least getting my feet wet. I am getting a degree in something besides aviation just in case I am not able to find a job with decent pay and QOL after 10-15 years in the industry. But 40 years from now I would regret it if I didnt follow my dream.
