I decided that I have had enough of the Mad Dog! The new AE awards were posted today and I am glad to see that I will be going to the 767ER. I am looking forward to all those new International destinations. I was surprised to see that the ATL based 767ER is still being held by new hires! I would get ready for a very long sit on reserve, but what a great plane to start your major airline career in! I myself loved the time I had on the 727 panel! Oh well, for those looking to come over to Delta, there is a lot of choices open to our new hires! Hope I'll see some of you soon!

You're still a tool!! You could fly the space shuttle and it wouldn't change that fact.

Congratualtions! It is impressive to fly jets across the pond plus its a good pick up line. "Hey baby I'll call you on Thurs.....Oh sorry it'll have to wait till Fri, I'm flying home from Paris" Sweeeeettt!!

Good for you Acarpe. You will love it. Talk about variety. No more 3 leg days for you. A max of 2, and you are done, with a first class meal too.

Bye Bye--General Lee

Fatigue, Leg thrombosis, dehydration, massive boredom, hemorrhoids you can have it. Flying outside of the US...Priceless ;-)

That's funny. Have you ever been in a 767-300ER cockpit? A lot of room to do jumping jacks if you wanted to. We also have atleast 3 pilots on the longer flights over 8 hours, and that means one is back in first class watching a movie, eating a first class meal that is provided via the contract, or just sleeping. Massive boredom? I can never get bored of the girls in Rio, or the Louvre museum. How about eating gelato at the Spanish Steps in Rome and then watching people at the Trevi fountain? I guess you have never been to any of those places. If you have to go away on a 3 day trip, you would rather go to ELP than Rome. (Italy, not Rome, NY) Priceless. Do you really have hemorroids?

I didn't know Delta had first class?

Domestically they do, but on INTL flights it is called Business Elite. Thanks for the correction.

Just had a nightmare flying a 767 300. It is a great airplane but I only flew it once a year or so. I flew to Brazil with two great FO's who had been down there a lot and showed me how little I knew about flying in south america. I am now retired but had this nightmare that I had to figure out the flight plan and was having problems. I thought getting on the computer would get me out of the dream. Never mind. Good night. All I remember is you can dump fuel and it taxies kind of weird. Oh yes, and flair higher than the 757. Ouch.

I can see all those stinkin places from the comfort of my living room on DVD without all the hassle of going intl. At least in ELP they have great mexican food and nobody is trying to kill ya!

Hot, no trees, nothing but mexicans, and one of the largest drug wars going on across the dried up river! Great spot! I can always tell when someone is jealous! Thanks for showing me I was right!

Thats funny! Every single Delta Captain I have flown with have told me it was some of the best flying they have ever done! I guess every pilot has their own idea of the dream job! I have always dreamed of doing what I am about to do! You have always dreamed of flying for the minor's into and out of Fort Smith! That is ok to! To each his own!

I felt safer doing layovers in the Middle East than I did in OAK.

I think you should do just that. And clean the lint from your big belly too.

If it was that great a gig, and an increase in QOL, new-hires wouldn't be holding it!

A buddy of mine is a 7 yr Mad Dog...has no interest in spending holidays in Lagos.

But I'm sure you'll have fun...

enjoy....

Why all the hostility? Congrats, hope you have a good time. All of you haters are just ate up with jealousy. General Lee is still a d!ck!

Louvre? Found it boring......Rio...Rome....IF I ever want to go to those places....I know how to get there....

Good looking girls are everywhere....I prefer mine to be American...that way you never have the language issues...or have to teach them how to look both ways before they cross the street.

Baseball stadiums....NBA basketball arenas....NFL football stadiums....nice lady action there too. Different strokes, I guess. See ya in PHX in February if you are planning to be at the next Super Bowl. I may not get into the game, but I'll get into some of the parties.

BTW....Earlier in my life I found that landing at 0600 or 0700 after a looooonng night of flying just wasn't my cup of tea...for those that enjoy that....have at it.

...I still know how to get there...

Atleast he has the choice. And, with the way things are going here with newhires getting the 767ER, this guy Acarpe probably won't have to spend the holidays in Lagos. Paris maybe, which might be really fun, but not Lagos.

So you never understood the Louvre, and know how to get to Rio or Rome....Excuses excuses. If you have to go on a 3 or 4 day trip, why not have a CHOICE where you go, and maybe do some INTL travelling on someone elses dime? Unfortunately, you don't have that choice. But, you do have great pay currently and fun stews. And we can all go to the Superbowl if we know the right people.

I don't fly to Ft. Smith ELP or Italy...My ETOPs experience is in the South Pacific ie..Pago Pago, Rarotonga, Majuro, Kwajalein and Xmas Island. As you guys say, to each his own..Straight and level for 6 plus hours is still boring no matter how you cut it, especially over water..IMHO
This is ok coming from a minor isn't it?
