Then ASA is the airline for you to apply to!

No longer do you have to worry about doing anything other than a low block 4 day! Jealous of senior FO's holding 16-18 day off 3 day trips??? Not here at ASA, everyone has the same amount of days off regardless of senority!! Tired of sifting through the bid packet, sorting out daylines, back to back 2 days and 3 days trying to find a line that allows you to plan your month around appointments/events/and things you want to do when your not lucky enough to be at work??? Not anymore!!

Come to ASA and never worry about bidding and sorting lines again! 5 minutes is all you need since a 12 day off 4 day is your only option. Thanks crew planning, your the best!!! And if you are skilled enough to get hired here and are lucky enough to become the number one FO on the list, then you will be rewarded with the single 3 day line availible out of 400+ lines!!

ASA, the working mans airlne!!!

Apply now!

It wasn't crew planning's idea. Read the ALPA board.

Yeah...I was just talking to a friend of mine at ASA, who's been there over 2 years as an FO. Has a line with 12 days off and all 4 days. WTF?

The funny thing is you see threads with people saying, "Got the call from ASA, SWEET!" Are they insane? Unless you live in Hotlanta, I'd move on.

I'll give you guys credit, you call it just what it is, shiet.

and yet at skywest we still have guys who think that ALPA 'protects' you from things like this.

I don't recall hearing that ALPA could get us better lines built. So keep on with your false innuendo.

nice try we have tons of 4 days with 2 days attached on the end at skywest. Thank goodness for pbs or we wouldn't be blessed with such horrible schedules. Lets blame skywest inc. not crew planning.
skynag alpa doesn't mix here yet and we have majority of filthy 4 day trips and low block as well.
Try upgrading and see how your qol goes.

Guess SH is trying to motivate ALPA to give in on our contract demands. Old technique, been tried before. We'll suck it up SH, and do your crappy lines. But, this won't change our demand for a fair contract.

I think the companys goal is to piss off the really senior dudes that have been here for a long time that don't want to leave because they have a great schedule with 16-18 days off a month. Even though the whole atmosphere here really sucks right now(for about the last 3 years really), they stick it out because great QOL when you are senior as far as schedules. With September, unless you are in the top 10 out of 400+, your gonna only have about 12 days off and some crap ass 4 day. Company trying to get these guys and gals to move on so they can get some junior people who are cheaper in there instead.

Kidding aside, I'm sure the real reason is, its most likely a combination of Delta's scheduling, the animosity toward the pilot group, the fact that we have no say in line construction and the fact that no one really gives a crap how many days off we have other than us and our families.

However if a by prouduct of these new lines is that some really senior people quit and move on, I'm sure mgm't won't lose any sleep over paying a replacement less.

Yeah, you tell him H.

And if he thinks PBS is coming his way, he keeps telling people in the GO it is, we have another suprise for him.

Learn how the game is played. It's all SH and his sticky fingers.

Looking at those lines just put to rest any reservations I had about upgrading.

Heck yea man. I just got the awards and I'm with you! Might as well be a captain and get paid nearly double and get some PIC time. Gonna have about the same schedule as a senior FO anyways.....

I've been at ASA for 3 years and I'm in the top 15% of FOs. I have never posted about how bad the lines are but this month (Sept) takes the cake. Out of 360ish lines, one line with 3 day trips and the rest are 4 days and naps. Thats not all. I've been doing 4 day trips for about a year and I've been able to get lines that duty in around 2PM on Mon. or Tues. and duty out at around 3PM on Thurs or Fri (About 73 hours away from base). But Sept. there are only 4 lines out of 360 that all four days duty in after noon and get back before 6 PM. The average total time away from base in Sept is around 83 hours each four day trip! That is insane. I've had my upgrade papers in for 6 months and I'm 90% sure I'll get the upgradee this month. Thank heavens because this is complete B.S. I know this is whining but I wish you all could see these lines. Gotta love ASA.

I have to laugh. Recall when it was announced he was hired here how all those Chi Express pilots heaped praise on him? Didn't fool those of us that have been here awhile. I still haven't spoken to him whenever I see him.

PSA's Managment spent "Millions" of dollars on scheduling software and our trips are the crap. Makes you wonder how they can keep their jobs spending so much money on junk software. Unbelievable

The lines will always be bad when there is a pilot shortage. Well, not really a pilot shortage but a shortage of pilots willing to be paid crappy wages.

Look up "micro-management" in the websters and you will see SH's picture.

Remember when Scott sent out the memo about the max duty time being 13 hours, and the min rest being 10.5 hours? Well, the net result is no 3 day trips.

They didn't do this to piss off the pilot group. They set those criteria to help out scheduling when they have an IROP day. People time out when they are on 14 hour duty days. And schedules get messed up for 3 days straight after and IROP day when the rest periods are less than 9-10 hours.

It should be interesting if he shows up at recurrent this month. I wish I could be there. Have those questions ready to go and listen carefully to his response.

Nonetheless, I will be taking meal breaks at every appropriate time of day, refusing every aircraft I can legitimately refuse, and writing up every maintenance discrepancy I can find... at the outstation, no matter how minor. My FO for September is a lucky guy. I will be doing all the walkarounds for the month. I urge every other Captain to do the same.

ASA pilots... your immediate boss has just spit in your face by allowing these lines to be published. I urge you to piss right back in his.

The silver lining I can find in the September schedule is that it may, just may, piss everyone off enough that they will actually do what it necessary to finish this contract.

Roll on two and no flex... no calls to the company on your cell phones... no "we'll write it up when we get back to Atlanta"... And I'll kindly remind everyone that if you happen to do the walkaround with the spoilers deployed and happen to find a broken grounding strap then that is a no-go item. If the ADG placard happens to come off on the way to the outstation, that is also a no go item.

Are you pissed off yet, guys and girls???

I agree. Now tell that to all the zealots who seem to think it will. We have a very vocal minority here that seems to think having ALPA will clear up all these little nasty things that go on. Just reading this thread is proof positive that it won't, can't, hasn't, etc.

Of course we have tons of 4 days, but when I was a senior FO I did nothing but awesome 2 days, locals, standups.

but I guess we suck and should be like everyone else and 'nut up' and 'join the club.' whatever
