Other than freedom day w/out breaks:
FO: I found two discrepancies on the walk around.
CP: Let's just wait until we get back to ATL
FO: why?
CP: Because we blah blah blah
FO: I think we should go ahead and write them up here.
If he says anything else TELL HIM YOU ARE NOT TAKING A BROKE AIRPLANE.
Just because you might hurt his feelings, pride, and king of the boat mentality, you have just as much to lose as he does.
Force the write up, get the problem addressed in a proper manner which is clearly outlined by your FOM, then come home when it's done.
