Does anyone know what the CLT/IAD commute is like? And what is the crashpad hotel situation like around IAD?

Good luck on that commute. Enough people are commuters and there is all RJ service on MESA in between the two. You are better off driving to RDU and catching a mainline from there.

United serves CLT with CRJ 200's/700s, mostly 700's. Airways uses crj 700/900 series. There are usually a couple of seats on the airways side. There are three airports you could use. IAD/DCA/BWI. Airways has a mixture of rjs, and mainline going to DCA. Baltimore 95% of the time is served with mainline ac with anything from a 737 to 757. Airtran also serves BWI.

I don't know about the hotel/crashpad situation.

CLT-IAD

It's pretty much all Mesa a/c, with the exception of some PSA -200's and a Shuttle America E170 every now and then.

There are A LOT of Mesa guys that do that commute, so expect them to have a higher priority.. but there are normally a decent amount of seats on the Airways side.

Not to be a jerk, but I'd be willing to guess that some of the Mesa served CLT-IAD will now be done by ASA, giving WMS priority on his own metal.

The majority of the UAL express CLT-IAD stuff is CR7 flying, with only one or two CR2 flights during the middle of the day. So yes, perhaps ASA will operate one or two flights a day.
