it dawned on me that......

while reading acaterrys' stuff, i considered these ol cliches...nothing that comes easy in life will ever be gratifying. only through hard work does one appreciate what one has.... cliches maybe, but

the guys who earned "it" have the passion and the ones who bought it are less likely to care.

yesterday i ran into an alleghany captain and said good morning!
he replied, same s%%t,different day , contract whores stealing our business, same ol crap. I thought now here's a guy that loves his job. and i also recalled the day befores' article in usa today.....the one about the standard for one way walk up unrestricted business fares will soon be around $299.00. It's southwest and jetblue leading the charge and since united and american are still charging up to 1200 for a round trip in some places.......HERE'S THE PUNCHLINE! Is it any wonder that they're forced to look for ways to cut costs other that their own structure and so they bid out regional flying and it goes to none other that the LOWEST BIDDER. Regional pilots didn't do this to themselves but radical transformation of the industry that is ELIMINATING archaic pricing formulas that confuse the consumer and now they don't fly.....now they shop for the lowest ticket on ther WEB...... Call it the wal mart effect., which is why I guess so many pissed off guys on these boards lament about making more in wal mart..

I've reached 100 replies! Thanks guys for participating. The debate will be alive forever, but the goal has been reached. Looks like there are 2 well divided opinions with no middle ground here. Might as well let it go at that. (unless you are a programmer)

Just kidding about the last sentence---don't flame me.
