In fact, most pilots would recommend a degree in anything BUT aviation.
It's the internships that get people hired. I can count many students from the school I went to who got hired on with regionals, some with as little as 400 hours because they did an internship through their college aviation program. Some used the opportunity wisely while others took it for granted, in my opinion.
