According to Kenn's weekly message today, the RIFed pilots were offered their jobs back. Welcome back all !

Wait and See

I don't know, Ricci's message said some of the RIFd pilots were contacted. I haven't seen much activity on the 1108 board from the 70 letting on that they have been contacted. Looking forward to official 1108 communication soon.

Some may choose not to return because they have found other employment, and maybe all of them have not yet had contact, but it is my understanding that they will all be offered their jobs back, and with full back pay!

Ok I want to see how B19 is gonna spin this!!!!

Way to go 1108. For anybody who doesnt like unions, the 1108 got a lot of pilots jobs back today. Thanks to all who made this happen.

Outstanding news. Hang tight and don't be so willing to vote on the first TA. You are all having an impact-in a very possitive way. B19? He'll claim some other crap, especially after you get your first CBA and FLOPs makes money with happy pilots. Facts have a way of remaining obscure with some folks.

Thanks for the update, 993! Good post, Pervis! Absolutely, Hogprint! Kudos all around: to the leaders who worked the issue, to the pilotgroup for the solidarity that made it possible, and to the unjustifiably fired pilots and their families for their patience and faith in the cause. DL, your post sounds like a toast...:p

So, I'll echo it... Hear! Hear! Congratulations guys!
Lizard, I couldn't agree more! Now onward to a fair TA!!

It's amazing, an hour after a post about unions and the fractional biz pops up and ol B19 is here. Kinda like he gets paid to post as a union buster ;)

Nah, couldn't be, he's just our friendly neighborhood non-union cargo company employee like he claims to be................ :D

I totally agree, Imac. Rather telling, isn't it?!

Yes it is. Nonunion cargo employees have way too much time on their hands!

BTW congrats to the guys who are getting their jobs back - hopefully the next step will be a good contract to vote on.

Definitely! If management is smart they'll keep the momentum going. Clearing this hurdle shows that they're getting the teamwork idea at last. That's a logical guess, and if true, it bodes well for putting out a decent TA in the near future. Hopefully, the FLOPS aren't going to waste time with a POSTA. After all they've put the pilotgroup thru that would be a stupid idea destined to backfire. Giving MS the boot raised spirits. Bringing back the wrongly fired pilots is another morale boost. If they want profits to rise, too, the best thing they can do is offer the Options pilots a fair contract guaranteed to motivate them and keep morale going up. Good Luck, guys! NJW

I'm BAAAAACK!!!

All pilots will be contacted, this may take time due to people being on vacation or employeed elsewhere. I was contacted Thursday night.
Now, we will all work on a TA.

Congrats to the Flight Options pilots. I know a lot of people were in on this issue. Such an action taken by a company was/is worthy of a do or die fight. I commend the Flight Options pilot leadership for sending a strong and clear message that there would be no TA without reinstatement of those pilots taken hostage. The hostages deserve long standing recognition because by and large they were taken out as a result of standing up for the pilot group as a whole. In addition, recognition is due to KR - he could have and should have addressed the issue sooner - nonetheless, he saw the line was drawn.

Sincere congrats to all that stood/stand strong.

Thanks

Thanks for all the great words of support (not you B19). I'm very proud of our union and it's membership for being so great during this RIF crises. The TAed CBA is close at hand and I'm looking forward to seeing it for the first time. But right now I'm just happy to say that I'm employed again.

Thanks NJW.

My pleasure, Buff! I can easily imagine the relief and excitement at your house. :)
Please pass along my congratulations to those in your group who don't read this board.

Bargaining Chips

Stood Strong?

Can you say.... bargaining chips? That's all they were, and the union should have told all the pilots that a mass layoff could happen and they would all be brought back later. Look at the history of nasty union negotiations, it happens again and again.

The union is puffing it's chest out and taking credit once again for something they knew was going to happen anyway and the membership is sucking it up like the kool-aide drinking group that they are.

But if it makes all of you feel good... enjoy.

I'm certain that all of the FLOPS pilots and employees have certainly enjoyed the three or more years of turmoil that the process has brought you. Just think, once the CBA is signed, everybody gets to go through the entire process again three years later.

Never claimed to be a "neighborhood non-union cargo company" employee, and I'm certainly not a union buster. I just find it fascinating that unions can hurt so many people to protect so few. These 70 pilots only lost their jobs as part of the process. Union leadership should have been up front with people about this and everybody should have known it. It happens over and over. It's part of the process and those that lost their jobs can blame their counterparts for bringing the union onto the property to give them the opportunity to lose their jobs, then get hired back later as a "feel good" and "good faith" part of the bargaining process. If you guys don't see that, than you're all a lot dumber than I thought you were.

Hopefully many of them have gone elsewhere to greener pastures. 1108 will claim success on bringing them back, but will never admit defeat for getting them fired in the first place.

Funny I don't remember the 1108 leadership telling these pilots you fired on May 23!!! I remember FLOPS leadership (if you call it leadership) telling these pilots YOUR FIRED!!!!

And DA19 the leadership did tell us there would be hostages, NOBODY knew there would be a mass layoff though. Just our coming back proves that management was screwing us, and nothing else, so who is the good guy here, 1108.

NJW,
Thanks for the card, really appreciate it. And I thank all the Netjets pilots who supported us durning this trying time, now we can get FLOPS back to where it use to be, but better.

B19 Flyer,
I am back because the 1108 stood up to an unethical management team, if not I would still be in the soup line. It's obvious you are a cold hearted individual who lack ethics and moral judgement. Don't bother responding to me because you will be ignored. You are not worth my time.
Don't go away mad, just go away.

Your an idiot. If you claim to have nothing to do with Flight Options, then why do you waste your time posting here? Honestly, do you get off on this sort of stuff? Get a life.

Not to poke fun at those who do but this is about as close to B19 as you can get....

welcome back fellow floppers!

Apparently Kenn Ricci was very instrumental in putting all the RIF pilots back on the line. Our MEC rocks but I have to say that Mr. Ricci seems to deserve some credit as well. FLOPs may actually become a place where Union and Management can actually work side by side. I would have never thunk it.:)

Dayyyummm.....pardon me while I get clear of the impending lightning bolt!

I agree...Kenn seems to have taken some positive steps in the right direction. IMHO, I wouldn't be lulled into a false sense of good feeling by his overtures. It is essential that you folks stay the course. Remember that in the absence of a binding contract that which has been given can just as easily be taken away.

It wasn't all that long ago that many NJ pilots also thought that a partnership would be far off--if ever--but situations can improve in fairly short order, especially once the egos and grudges get dropped. When you look for common ground and operate on the principle of fairness good things can happen that benefit everyone involved in the company. I don't think it's a stretch to see the same thing happening at FltOps, especially if joint committees are mandated in the contract and both sides learn and grow from working together. NJW

My pleasure, SJ! Having been thru contract negotiations with the NJ folks I did think y'all were in the darkness before the dawn phase. I also think there's light showing at the end of the tunnel. Speaking of darkness, you guys are keeping track of everyone, right? Are all the hostages now accounted for? Is there a committee with a roster calling out names on your message board? (We know what you posted SJ..:) ) It wouldn't do to come this far just to lose a few back in the tunnel. I want to celebrate the return of every hostage but I have to rely on you guys to help me keep track of how many are still out there. Thanks for keeping me posted. NJW
