And some people wonder why freight pilots' resumes don't float right to the top of the stack...

Nice way to feed the stereotype, self-proclaimed comedian that he is.

Why you gottsta be hatin'?? :pimp:

I guess they don't have a Dental plan there! :crying:

Fellas,

There is a reason this is one of the most popular threads, day after day, on this message board. It's hysterical. Those of you who are hard-ases don't need to worry, he's not stepping in your cool-aid. He's down-to-earth and humble. Let's take a little deeper look at the video and I'll walk you through growing a sense of humor. This is a funny video because, while this man is an accomplished professional pilot, he takes time durring cruise-climb to tell us about *free food*. Now, clearly he is in a jet, and he's clearly in the left seat with four stripes, yet he welcomes us to his "JET" with the enthusiasm of an 18 y/o FO in a shiny RJ. While most proud pilots would show their machoism by speaking in a deep voice and smile as little as possible, Caneman wears a sh!t-eatin' grin while he squeaks out, "ooh, I'm getting pretty blown out there by the SUN." Aye cabrone, that's hysterical! It's also quite clear that he's really pushing the rules of the required rest, as every freight-dog does. "ANYWAY, it's not like a lot of footage of me flyin' around in my JET." There are so many one-liners packed in these seven minutes of laughter, my CA and I have been quoting him all week.

Parting and deepest thought; "I got on some sssstripes and ssssh!t on my sssshoulders. Like, I'm pretty much in charge of this thing." That there's funny, I don't care who y'are, that's funny. If you don't think that's funny, you need to spend some of your holy CAPITAN pay and buy yourself a sense of humor. Caneman, if you read this, there are a lot of silent fans... a silent majority. Keep up the good work and maybe you could stick to the pilot humor. If this website doesn't prove that pilots need someone like you, I don't know what would. Please, please, do some more pilot sssssshenanigans. Looking forward to seeing you around.

Shy Fly Guy

Thank you so much for the kind words. Im glad that you and the silent ones are having a good laugh from my existance on this planet. And the non silent folks too. It humbles me that you have picked my video apart and got the lines down to a science. Being a freight dog, we never got fed too well, so when "WE GOT SOME FREE FOOD" well, it was a $ 18 buffet in Central America, that was covered by the hotel, that made our (the crew) night. Back in the days of Emery our contract only said we could have Beverage Service on the plane, water, coffee, tea, soup - HOWEVER you could not take a delay a flight for lack of beverages. LOL what a joke. While ALL of the Contractors that flew for us had Full Meals on most fights. And ALPA said we had the Best First Contract in the Industry.....AnyyyyyWayyyyy
Thanks again. Cleared for Takeoff..

Theres many more videos on my site: And listen to my music, from the link on the bottom of my main page. My band is called Mike Hotel and I play with my Invention called "The Caneman Guitar God System"(R) (tm) The newest in guitar effects.

I was watching the DC8 vid again and noticed a few details...

By the reflection in his sunglasses, Cainman is in the left seat, there's no head between him and the panel.

When he's talking to the FE, they're in a 1k fpm climb.

And the arm that gives him 'bunny ears' isn't the FE's.

FI board, This is Caneman...Over !!!

For all the guys, lets see..I have an ATP 14000 hours, 9000 PIC, 6000 PIC Heavy Jet, ASES, Glider-CFI, and F/E. Flying is great and I never planned on quitting. In 2001 Emery Worldwide Airlines locked out all their pilots. They got contractor's (scabs to me) to fly all the freight. They turned in their certificate to the FAA to get out of our ALPA contract (Screw ALPA), changed the name from EWA to Menlo, and sold it to UPS without the pilots. I miss flying but acting and comedy is more fun to me nowdays. In the old days we flew 12 days a month for $130,000 a year. Now the "Stuff and S**t" I see pays only $60,000 a year for jet captain giving 21+ days a month. I can do the math, not my scene. Flying is fun but its a job not My Hobby. A house in the West costs a million dollars now day. After I got laid off from EWA I lost my 6000' sq foot home and all my money. I'm now poor and live in a 23' RV, but I am Happy. Perhaps I will fly a Biz-Jet soon. But only as the rich guy in the back.

As far as the "Captain Caneman DC8" video..NO FARs were broken. One guys says its not MIA. True, the video is two different trips. The landing was on a short 6000' runway in Europe after a 10 our flight. Its not a hard landing for a DC8, and the GPWS went off because I HAD TO plant it on the numbers for a short field landing. You can here just a few seconds after touchdown 3000' remaining. As far as the gear down at 1000 feet. Thats OK for me--SOP. I like to go power idle at top of descent, glide down to 1500' then spool them up for landing without touching the power during the descent. Saves Fuel.. And I make all the profiles and speed restrictions on the approach.

For the guys who dissed my teeth ... Watch this video of me at the dentist... http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=1268309740290608231
I may be a "wierd-stupid-loose-crazy guy" in the videos, BUT when Im flying I always make sure to stay within the FARs and "Saftey is Number One" Im Not A Fool. Just a Comic.....

Take Care ALL You ALLS..

Hey Caneman, you gotta go for the gay pilot TV gig in that other thread. Not saying that you're gay or anything but you could totally pull it off. It's in your neigborhood as well. You're not over 50 are you?
