OK, I will take your word for it and accept that there was a list.

Here's what I'll do. I'll call one of my buds who is a member of the original BoB. I'll ask him directly what the list was for and why it had these column headers, if indeed it did.

ATTENTION ALL WHO READ THIS THREAD.
THE BLOODY LIST EXISTS!!! I HAVE A COPY AND IT CLEARLY HAS COLUMNS THAT LABEL SOME AS:
BoB
SYM.....AS IN SYMPATHETIC TO THEIR CAUSE
FENCE...AS IN "ON THE"
UNION....CLEAR AS CAN BE


GO TALK TO YOUR "FRIEND" AND TELL HIS LOW LIFE GROUP OF SCUMBAGS TO QUIT LYING TO THE APA AND POSTING FALSE INFORMATION ABOUT JBPA.
RANT OVER. Now back to regular letters.

I'm just guessing here, but I'm guessing that they (the folks who were anti-union) attempted to talk to as many folks on the seniority list as possible to convince them that voting no was the best option. They created headers to support their process. Simple.

I did consider that the "camp" column was merely to determine who to spend lobbying time on, right up until the point that it became apparent that everyone in the "union" camp was excluded from any mailings by default. Maybe the BoB's were being polite by excluding known union supporters from emails that they evidently had no interest in. That's a nice, innocent explanation. I'd like to believe that's all there is to it. But human nature being what it is, and since check airmen are prominent among the BoB's, who can take that chance? It still doesn't discount the very real intimidation factor created by the list's very existence, regardless of whether it's ever used.

I bet the answer from my friend will be similar to my hypothesis. Either way, I will be honest and post it here.

Could a list like this be abused? Sure. Could a list of ASAP submissions be abused? Sure. Could a list of pilots who missed trips be abused? Sure.

Actually, it IS a stretch to believe that a list like this will be abused, however. The creation of this list was not illegal; to abuse it would be. There is a clear distinction.

Just because there is a list does not mean that adverse action will be taken, or even that anyone in leadership has a copy of said list.

You guys are creating a mountain out of a molehill. And yes, I am for real. ;>)

You are as big a dipsh!t as you BoB friend. Now my name as well as hundreds of others are labeled. LABELED!!!
Next time we have a management change and that lists exist there is a significant chance that list could be used to single out certain people. It happens all the time in many different industries and without a union we are powerless. You're an idiot if you don't think this could happen to any one of us in the future.
Tell your BoB friend to enjoy his commuting.

I stand behind that statement. Again, let the paranoia subside a bit and realize that no actions have been taken against any member of the pro-union camp. Please--give me an example of this behavior and I'll give your theory more credibility.

Why so tense? Are you incapable of accepting a logical alternative explanation as to why the list exists?

Now that is a logical argument, and well put. Good point.

I believe the "camp" column was for an actual camping trip. The Bobs were thinking of a little get together at a state park where everyone would bring a tent and a sleeping bag, and they would talk about company problems by the fire. Of course this would degrade to singing "I'd like to teach the World to sing" and spooning.

So let's say a pilot, with great knowledge, great personality and a clean record applies to be a check airman. There are openings, they are interviewing and he knows that the other guys have similar credentials as him, yet he never gets called.

Let's say, that he was fingered on the Bob list, but no one else but him was, did he not get interviewed because he was on the list, how could he prove that was the case?

He would not be able to prove it, the company will simply say he wasn't selected as there were many great applicants etc., etc.
