Don't get me wrong: bart is an as_hole.

(But then again, so are most of the FlightInfo regulars...including yours truly. :D )

Typhoon is right...

and it takes one to know one...

anyone ever see "My Blue Heaven" with Steve Martin? The line from that movie:

"Everyone thinks they have a sense of humor, but they don't..."

comes to mind.

Thanks! (Beats the hell out of "pathetic simpleton..." :D )

Incidently, what is that seal in your avatar? I don't recognize it.

It is the Special Forces Assn. decade seal. Ten years in the SFA.

It is also the Seal on a buckknife in my possession.

...the shirt says it all....

that's why I own it!

That is your opinion. Because we have fought wars in the past, you have the freedom to express that opinion. I encourage you to continue to consider these ideas.

That is your opinion.

Thanks for informing me that it was my opinion. Does stating that obvious fact your way of somehow refuting my statement? You'll have to try a little harder than to imply that what I say is my opinion and what you say is engraved in stone.

That is my opinion.
:D

So what?

...but what I couldn't handle was walking back from class watching a girl dragging an American flag on the ground while numerous people stomped on it...As I step out my door I see that very same girl trying to light that American Flag on fire.

The flag is manufactered in this country and sold for profit. The flag itself is private property.

But more importantly, the flag is just a symbol and what the flag-burning-ban-consititutional-amendment-conservatives don't seem to understand is that desecrating the flag in public actually celebrates the prinicples that the flag represents.

What I find ironic is that those same political firebrands in Congress have no compunction about wrapping themselves in the flag to garner emotional support when their case is weak. Talk about desecrating the flag.

People do not burn and desecrate the flag for peace. Their intent is to piss people off, and it works. There are alot of ways to exercise our rights as citizens, people that choose to desecrate the flag certainly have the right to, but don't get confused on why they do it.

For me, it takes some serious self control when I see people doing this. The only time I have lost it was on some clowns that baited me and two other soldiers in uniform by calling us baby killers and the like. That was no big deal, then one was dumb enough to spit on my Team Sergeant. When the cops got there, they took one statement from a disinterested witness and sent us on our way.

I guess my point is with free speech, comes responsibility. Some don't always take the latter when exercising the former.

Thanks for informing me that it was my opinion.

You're welcome. Apparently you thought you were speaking facts. That needed correction.

What I have said, that you can express your opinion because we have fought wars, is not my opinion, it is a fact.

See the difference?

You'll have to try a little harder than to imply that what I say is my opinion and what you say is engraved in stone.

On the contrary. I fully expect you to ignore any kind of fact in order to shore up your agenda, which is what I call the "hate America first" agenda.

To capsulize: your opinion is only possible because of the sacrifice of others in armed conflict. That is a fact.

Sorry guys, I have a been at work for a few some I have missed all the fun. I didn't (again) read all the fun replies, just a few. The guys that want to fight, my dad can beat up your dad so I am not worried. My mom can beat up your mom, and if you want to fight me, my glock is pre-ban so my clip is bigger than yours. Chill out, just kidding. Man, talk about up tight. In my past experience, 6 years of law enforcement, the guys who talk so big, are not so big.
You girls will like my lastest post.

I forgot this, any of you goobers that think Snakum is a perv, it's not true I have never seen him at any of the meetings.

This is all well and good, but I want to know where all the piece activists are. Anybody know some?

I always sit in the back. :D

When I was in radio, I was the leading "piece activist" at the station.

:D

That's a gross oversimplification. First, not all wars in which the US was involved supported our freedoms. Secondly, (from your other posts too) you seem to think that war is the only reason that we enjoy freedoms. There's a "little" more depth than that.

AGAIN, (say it with me) that was your O-P-I-N-I-O-N.

The only fact here is that your insitance that you somehow have a monoploly on fact is misplaced arrogance to the umpteenth degree.

"hate america first" agenda? What is that? More of that talk-radio spin? Cute.
