How much can you make at Airnet?

Why would you want to have them "work with you" on your one year contract???? I'm confused why you would need to leave early...but that's not what you asked so here ya go....

Why is one year so hard to commit to??? Do you know it feels like i have been here only a couple years myself, and then i look back and realize it has been 5 1/2 years...all went by really fast.

"Work with me"; are they very set on the one year contract or can you negotiate a 6 month deal? If they are not negotiable, I respect that and won't make a fuss, just curious.

airplaner.... no they won't work with you on that. They invest 5 weeks of training into you so they expect you to finish out your year.

The contract is there because of the high cost to train new hires (~~$7,000). If you go to a decent regional you are facing a 12-24 month contract. Flight Express doesn't require one because their company is pathetic when it comes to training. Like Prince said, it is a weekend course. I find it funny, too, that they offer pilots staying beyond 6 months a bonus. Doesn't that alarm anyone?!

Actually, it's not very alarming...we used to offer a $1500 contract completion bonus when i came aboard here. But i do wonder about the training time at FE, however i knew some great pilots that worked there, unfortunately one lost his life flying the 210 for them, bad day, also lost a friend at Tex-Star(at least that was the name then) on the same day.

One year isn't really all that much of a commitment in the grand scheme of things. If you fully intend to bail out before that year is up, I can offer two options for you.

1. Come in to the first day of training with a check for $7000 in hand.

or

2. Go somewhere else.

Thanks for "defending" FLX. When I was there, 135 groud training was one week long, and flight training was another week, so hardly a "weekend" like Prince said.

FLX provides a bonus right after training with the notion that a pilot will stay for 6 months. If they leave early, they give it back. I don't see anything wrong with this.

I did 1 year at FLX, and enjoyed it immensely. I would recommend flying freight to anyone.

I have said it before, and will say it again: Airnet, FLX, Ram & Package, etc are all the same. We all fly through crap weather, make crap money (less than 50k) and do essentially the same job. All these companies have fatalities. Give it a rest already!
