Mostly wondering about Skywest and XJT guys. At ASA they are running us so thin that pretty much everyone credits over about 83 hrs, with most way above that. I have seen as high as 108 hrs. That is on reserve!

How about you all?

Maximum efficiency. Get used to that term. As long as the labor group consistently shows up to work for ridiculous trips with floating single days off between weeks of work, it will continue.

Management will do to you what you let them. The union is supposed to speak for you, but not when you are represented by a group of princesses.

Quite true. At ASA reserves are for all practical purposes, completely unrepresented.

New vacancy bid coming up soon. If you're an FO, Bid Dulles if you want some time off from flying hehe.

Student loans almost paid off. Dying to buy a Condo in Buckhead and live it up. I'll take 108hrs of credit and maximum efficiency please! Cash rules everything around me...

Expressjet has been beating us up lately. Running really thin. I had been crediting 110-120 hours on Reserve but actual block has been less than 75. A LOT of the time is Deadhead's. Some months 30+ hours. I am EWR and DH to IAH(4hr), CLE (2hr), ORD (2.5hr) all the time at the start or finish of an assignment. My FO today said he credited 160 hours in July. We get a pretty good deal if they roll us into a day off. We get the 3.75 or actual above our guarantee at 150 percent and we still get to restore the day off later. It can turn into a viscous money making cycle if you give them days to restore later and they then roll THAT day allowing you to continue to rack up the add pay all while still getting your 11 or 12 days off. Just don't make any plans for the month because you never no when those days off will be. It has gotten a little better this month but reserves are still getting use pretty much every day.

So me thinks that Skywest Inc had decided that the new norm for a reserve pilot is to operate the schedule, rather than just fly things as they pop up. And what is worse is our management is saying that the problem will go away when our PBS come in. Well Skywest already has PBS and it sounds like they are flying more!

Your company is lying (I know shocking) to you. PBS will only make things worse.

I think we fly even more because people drop there first or last or both round trip of there 4 day and it uses a reserve for a 2 hr IDA flight.. or a nice 4 day goes into open time and people pick up the last 4 legs of flying to make a great local and then a reserve is doing a 12 hr 4 day trip showing at 9pm getting done at 7 am.. I bid reserve a few months out of the year.. When I put call first it's always scrapy stuff. If i put call last I don't fly much but when I do its usualy a sick call and I get put on a ok (non-picked apart) 2 day of 4 day...

Today is my day off... yet I find myself in Gainesville. My Captain also got extended however he gets 200% pay while I get nothing. It would be nice to get something for this in a future contract. Just saying... I know they can do it and its per the contract but lets change it. Seriously, the guy I'm working with gets an extra 800 bucks or something and I get 35 Bucks extra (per diem). When I explain that to my non-pilot friends, they laugh.

That's complete BS.

I thought it was 150% for outside the footprint??? Maybe scheduling awarded him an extra 50% for having to fly with you. ;)

BTW, your new avatar is kind of disturbing. :erm:

Pretty sure if you pick up a premium trip and then get extended beyond the footprint of that trip, you are paid 200%. Either way, you couldn't pay me enough to fly with him. :D

It could be hazard pay, because I am sure James let everybody know an Auburn guy was flying them to GNV, or possibly an extra 10% for every "War Eagle" comment he could slip into his PAs.

BTW James, you know who I am at work, just not here on FI.
