Mostly wondering about Skywest and XJT guys. At ASA they are running us so thin that pretty much everyone credits over about 83 hrs, with most way above that. I have seen as high as 108 hrs. That is on reserve!

How about you all?

Maximum efficiency. Get used to that term. As long as the labor group consistently shows up to work for ridiculous trips with floating single days off between weeks of work, it will continue.

Management will do to you what you let them. The union is supposed to speak for you, but not when you are represented by a group of princesses.

Quite true. At ASA reserves are for all practical purposes, completely unrepresented.

New vacancy bid coming up soon. If you're an FO, Bid Dulles if you want some time off from flying hehe.

Student loans almost paid off. Dying to buy a Condo in Buckhead and live it up. I'll take 108hrs of credit and maximum efficiency please! Cash rules everything around me...

Expressjet has been beating us up lately. Running really thin. I had been crediting 110-120 hours on Reserve but actual block has been less than 75. A LOT of the time is Deadhead's. Some months 30+ hours. I am EWR and DH to IAH(4hr), CLE (2hr), ORD (2.5hr) all the time at the start or finish of an assignment. My FO today said he credited 160 hours in July. We get a pretty good deal if they roll us into a day off. We get the 3.75 or actual above our guarantee at 150 percent and we still get to restore the day off later. It can turn into a viscous money making cycle if you give them days to restore later and they then roll THAT day allowing you to continue to rack up the add pay all while still getting your 11 or 12 days off. Just don't make any plans for the month because you never no when those days off will be. It has gotten a little better this month but reserves are still getting use pretty much every day.

So me thinks that Skywest Inc had decided that the new norm for a reserve pilot is to operate the schedule, rather than just fly things as they pop up. And what is worse is our management is saying that the problem will go away when our PBS come in. Well Skywest already has PBS and it sounds like they are flying more!
